In this interesting book, the author details the Beatles' financial situation for approximately four years from 1965. As their Accountant, Financial Advisor and Director of Apple Corps, he was in the supreme position to trace and document their monetary success in the music industry, and other businesses that he established for them. His meticulous and careful recording of all their financial transactions makes for fascinating reading and gives another insight into the cost of their luxurious lifestyle at the time.
He lists his efforts to straighten and strengthen their finances; to plan for their future; and additionally, how he was able to recoup vast lost revenues from their recordings in America.
Apart from facts and figures, there are humorous insights into their lives during this period; their contact with their guru, the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi; the opening (and closing) of the Apple fashion shop; the transformation of a historic and majestic building in London into an open-air art gallery.
This enjoyable book gives another perspective into the well-documented lives of the Beatles.

A very interesting read for anyone who wants to know all about the beginnings and demise of the Beatles' company, Apple Corps Ltd, written by an insider who was one of the directors and accountants. I wish this had been available in paperback or hardcover. A must for any Beatles fan.

This is a very interesting and different perspective on the early Beatles. Cuts through a lot of the myth and takes you behind the scenes.

Fantastic, a real insight into the early careers of the Beatles. This book reveals a new aspect of the financial world inhabited by the top people in the pop scene and should be a compulsory read for new accountants. A good training manual. I am looking forward to the paper edition.

A brief but insightful glimpse into The Beatles financial world and a resounding slap in the face to Brian Epstein's woeful monetary mismanagement. Mostly an attempt by the author to claim credit for saving a sinking ship, he writes like an accountant would write (tersely). The books primary value is its context and the evolution of Apple from a 'suits' point of few. Would have given 4 Stars except for the glaring error that Pete Shotton is described as George's friend (instead of John's).
