Author Mary Burton King retired from the U.S. Navy after twenty one years of active duty. She is also a former Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) Special Agent specializing in the investigation of homicides. Ms. King obtained a Masters Degree in Forensic Science from George Washington University in 1986 and has over twenty years of law enforcement experience.

Mary Burton King is the author of two detective murder mysteries, Fool Me Once... and Fool Me Once...Final Resolution, as well as her two thriller novels, Beatrice Belladonna's Black Magic Web, and The Dark Entity. She resides in Pataskala, Ohio, and is currently writing her fourth novel, MURDER & MAYHEM (a collection of short stories), scheduled for publication mid 2016.

Fascinating read, great narrative told by a fictional death row inmate. Her psyche is reminiscent of famous violent criminals: narcissistic, materialistic, with an occasional emotional weak spot for good measure. Well written, looking forward to more from this author!

‘Beatrice Belladonna's Black Magic Web’ is spell binding. Never in my wildest dreams would I have ever thought that I would care to know anything about a Haitian Vodou (old term voodoo) Priestess. Nor did I know that I could become interested in Vodou Priestess’ herbs (grown all around the world), magic potions, blessings and curses.

Believe me when I say that no matter how you feel about this subject or this Vodou Priestess you will come to admire her level of intelligence (just like the black widow spider). You will begin to see the world from her perspective and no matter what her crimes you will be forced to think about human dignity.

The author puts her real life NCIS experience to use as we explore the mind of a killer. Great read, like all her books, I could not put it down! I read this after I read the stand alone, yet sequel to this.If you want to see into the mind of a killer, this thriller is for you !
