I have bought 2 of these Beats EP headphones in the past 6 months. Within 2-3 months, the cord frays where it connects to a device (see photo), leading to intermittent sound, and eventually, sound in only one headphone (a different one for each set!). "Coincidently, the lifespan of these headphones just exceeds the window for return or service.
For the first month, they do however offer great sound for the price - which is why I bought a second one after the first one failed.

9/14/2017- reduced from 5 to 3 stars UPDATE: These headphones broke after about 6 months of use. The headband piece broke in half, making them impossible to wear. Apparently this is a well known problem with Beats. THANK goodness I purchased the Assurion Insurance for a few bucks. Filed a claim and received a FULL refund within hours of mailing it off.

Bought these for my son for xmas. Purchased 12/17..broke 11/18. Total crap..cant even return them because the option isn't there. I purchased 2 wireless pairs about 5 years ago at 250$ a piece. They both snapped within a year also. I now have 600$ invested in beats and nothing but useless broken headphones.

I work as a DJ on the side sometimes. These seemed like a perfect pair of headphones, as reviewers stated that they had good sound quality as well as durability. They were right about the sound quality. Solid 4/5. They're not Bose, but they're also only $80. Build quality is where we start to have issues. I was just barely out of warranty when the plastic pieces started to separate around where the can adjusts length. This meant that it would always try to spring back to the shortest length on that side. I fixed it alright with some electrical tape, but that isn't optimal. So they'll work, but I feel like you should be able to do better for $80. At the same time though, I'm having a hard time finding anything decent. I'm open to ideas if you've found sub $100 that you like.

We needed a second set of headphones for him that he could use with his computer and be able hear what is going on whenever we do live a live stream together on my YouTube channel. These headphone have fit the need perfectly.

I currently use the pink Beats Solo that are the photo and this review is for the black Beats, his. I hate to admit it because the Solo pair cost more, but this pair actually has better sound. They are easy to use, easy to adjust the size on, and he loves them.

The only thing that I don't like about them is the fact that the cord is built in which means it isn't replaceable. With the Beats Solo, the cord plugs into the headphones so if it shorts out, you can replace just the cord without having to shell out the cost of the headphones again. That is the only negative thing I can think of for these headphones and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5.

If anything changes, I'll come back and update but so far so good and he really does like them.

They're great headphones with a few problems.

BAD
1. You cant be hard on them or they'll bend on the metal part between the actual headphone and headrest; the cord is also pretty flimsy like you've probably heard. It will tear kinda easy and you have to take good care of it.
2. They do start to hurt your ears after having them on for 2 or more hours. It's not bad though and should be expected with on-ear headphones.
3. NOT SUPER PORTABLE because of cord, but you can travel with them using precautions.

GOOD
1. Great sound
2. Does block out Most outside sound
3. Doesnt have to charge!

I saw these headphones on amazon for $80 and though that was a very good price for beats. when they arrived they felt great on my ears and the sound quality was AMAZING. Best headphones I've ever heard. The only way they could be better is they are wireless. But I'm not paying the extra $200 bucks for wireless solo 2 or 3's. So I would have gave four stars if it wasn't for this. I was out shopping when I found myself in a electronics section. I saw the price of the beats ep and. Was amazed. They were $139 plus tax!!!!! Amazon beats them once again by them on amazon.

I bought these in December 2017, and it is now July 2018, so it hasn't even been a full year since I've had them and the ear pieces are falling apart. One side came undone a month or two ago, but recently the other side started falling off too. I feel like for the amount paid they should last more than a few months.

Bought two pair of these three months ago and in the same week both only had sound out of one side. The Amazon return window had closed so went to claim the one year manufactures warranty fulfilled by Apple, but Apple wouldn’t honour the warranty because they said they were fake and that Amazon is not an authorized reseller of Beats. So in short I’m out my $200. I thought I’d share so future consumers are aware. If you did purchase the product look to see if your headset has a serial number on it, mine did not and this deemed a fake set by Apple.

Para el precio que tienen son fantásticos, valen totalmente la pena. Amoldan perfectamenta a tu cabeza y oidos, se sienten suaves pero firmes, puedes mover la cabeza y hasta camniar y correr con ellos sin que se muevan o se deslicen. Su estructura de metal los hace sentirse fuertes y resitentes que difícilmente parece que se partiran en dos (como lo que sucedía con otros modelos hechos sólo de plástico). La calidad de audio supera por mucho al tipo de audifonos que son (considerando que son de los "baratos").

Al amoldar firmemente aislan muy bien el ruido exterior.

Son perfectos para lo que cuestan, la calidad de audio y calidad de materiales, el aislamiento de sonido exterior por sus almoadillas y la diadema que aprieta firmemente pero no demasiado.

Lo único cuestionable tal vez sea el cable, que posee su control de volumen y microfono (mayoría de funciones sólo funcinonan con iPhone) que parece ser un poco delgado y puede sentirse delicado, pero parece decente y resistente aunque no está de más cuidar que el cable no se jale o se sobre estire.

We had two pairs of Beats headphones break in the past month, and both broke the same way. The little piece that goes into the iPad broke off inside the iPad. The headphones and iPad are treated well - the piece broke off while unplugging the headphones. These headphones are uncomfortable and needed to frequently be readjusted - so distracting. I will never buy Beats again.

The volume control does not work, the jack connector has obviously been replaced, I bought these as a gift for my niece, there is no way I can give them to her in their present condition, very disappointed with the condition of these headphones, not the quality I’m used to coming from Amazon, will think long and hard about what I order in the future.

I needed a pair of cans for running and casual listening here and there. Sound quality is pretty good for a pair of beats, better than solo3 I find, not too bassy for beats but still extremely boosted. Mid is okay and treble is lacking but you got to expect it from a pair of beats. The earpads are comfy but the headband is very slippery due to the padded silicon and always falls of from my head... Clamping force is very weak, I can't run with it. The real deal breaker is the non detachable cable... if the cable breaks, you have to toss the headphones straight to the garbage and since Beats/Apple cables are known for their bad quality and lack of durability, it's not very reassuring. Unfortunately returning them.
