Loved Scout. Really felt her emotions throughout this book. I had a LOT of problems with Dane. He was selfish, cowardly and only seemed to make changes when he was forced into them by others. I know many will love him, but I found him hard to stomach at times. I'm also not sure I truly believe that he's a changed man, or that it happened because of his will, instead of his fear of losing Scout. However, if there are future books in this series, I'd still consider reading them.

This was a great book!! I loved Atticus and Averys story and the author didn't disappoint with Scout and Danes. With that being said, I was a little surprised with Atticus attitude towards Scout and Dane. I mean he basically pawned her off on him numerous times over the years and then gets upset when they find what they need in each other. Other than that this was a great book and I'd definitely recommend it!!!

First off, it would be hard for me to review without giving a disclaimer. This book deals with serious issues that could be a trigger for some. Beautiful Broken is about a woman torn apart by drugs and sexual abuse and how she puts herself back together. The way that Nazarea handles the situations presented are done with the utmost respect for women in the same situation as her main character, Scout. It is in no way thrown in haphazardly to create sympathy like has become popular lately. Scouts past is integral to the story and her growth as a character.

Scout and Dane are perfect together. They have always been each others comfort zone, even if she should technically be off limits. Her older brother happens to be Dane's best friend. The chemistry between the two is explosive and the way they handle their complicated relationship is realistic. It is refreshing to read a story that doesn't stray to far from what could really happen. Let's face it, the chance of finding a man who is successful, hot, and can spew love lines like Romeo is incredibly rare. Dane has his moments of pure OMFG I NEED HIM TO SAY THAT TO MEEEEEEEE! but he also pulls a lot of stupid man bull shit. He is a genuine man.

Beautiful Broken is a book that draws you in and holds you tight. It doesn't let go until long after you finish the last page. It is a story that touches you and changes your perception on others. It is a book you have to go and buy.

I have been anxiously awaiting this story, and it didn't disappoint. Both Dane and Scout had a past filled with loss, pain and trauma, but they were always there for each other. The author did a wonderful job in handling the sensitive topic of rape, never minimizing the effects or outcomes it has on a victim's life. I was proud of the strength and support Dane gave Scout, and how he stood up to Atti while still being respectful of his feelings. This was a heartfelt and emotional read. I hope that this series will continue as I would like to see Atti and Avery, as well as Dane and Scout with their HEA!

4.5 Stars

While Dane was not my favorite character in the first book, This Love, (he acts like a jerk at times to Avery), we get a better insight into him in this one. Both Dane and Scout are fully developed in their story, and we get to learn all about their past and what makes them tick. The author does a good job of crafting a love story around two very imperfect people who are right for each other.

Could be read as a stand-alone although I highly recommend the first book about Scout’s brother Atticus and his love Avery.

Beautiful Broken was a good book. I really liked Scout & Dane. There was chemistry between them and I felt like I could relate to them. There was not a lot of build up of the other characters so I didn't feel connected to any other character. But that's OK, because this was Scout & Dane's story. And it was sweet and steamy. I would recommend this story to anyone who likes adult romance.

I received a copy of Beautiful Broken for an honest review.

Scout Grimes has been running from her dark past with drugs and alcohol. When her brother and Dane his best friend sent her to rehab Scout had no choice but to clean up her act or risk Dane taking himself out of her life forever. Dane has many problems including his attraction to his best friends little sister Scout. When both come together they realize just how much they belong together, and despite their pasts and the obstacles ahead they're willing to risk everything to be together.

Sadly I didn't enjoy this story as much as I did the first book in this series First Love for a couple of big reasons.

1. Scout: I honestly didn't like her all that much. She complained to much and while I get what happened to her was horrible she's still incredibly rude a lot of the time to everyone even when they're nice to her. I just could not relate to her at all which sucked because many characters in different books who go through the same ordeal were more relatable to me but not Scout.
2. Dane and his always using sex as a way to cope with his emotions. I wasn't a huge fan because honestly all that says to me is that he's a man wh*re which took me liking him a lot down as well.
3. Atticus was such a bad person in this book which made me sad. I mean everyone expects him to drop everything for his druggy sister was annoying. I didn't like how judgmental he was to Scout. Even though I wasn't her biggest fan Scout didn't deserve the harsh attitude that Atticus gave her most of the time.

The overall story of two kids who grow up together and become more than friends was definitely great. While I wasn't a hug e fan of the characters in this one I really enjoyed the writing and the story line. Nazarea Andrews has an amazing talent and even with her "eh" characters her way of story-telling was so perfect to me.
