I have read this series and just love it!
Flynn and Ruby's story made me cry and laugh and most of all fall in love.
Amazing job Lillian!!
As modern women, shouldn’t we be high-fiving each other and adding a notch to our bedpost instead of calling it a walk of shame?
Right now, all I’m trying to do is take all of my broken pieces and turn them into a mosaic instead of just gluing them back together in the same old shape they always were.
My late husband used to cheat with the woman who lived at the end of our street. Then his dick got too old to stand up straight and he took too many of those Viagra pills. Terrible thing having to bury a man with a giant hard-on… I wasn’t sad to see him go, really. But I was sad that I had to organize his funeral—that other woman loved him more than I did. But then, she didn’t have to wash his dirty underwear every day for fifty-six years.
Fearless and brave aren’t the same thing. Brave is doing something even though it scares you. Careful people miss out on the greatest parts of life. Trust me, I know—I’m old. Old people know everything.
‘That’s why I got you a Sphinx. They’re hairless.’ He holds up the mewing cat, scratching it under its wrinkly chin... ‘He looks like an old man’s scrotum,’ Brad comments.
Lilliana Anderson has a gift for painting vivid pictures with her words; I could clearly visualize each scene in totality as I was reading. I enjoyed catching up with the characters from previous installments, although the beauty of this series is each book has strong enough legs to stand alone, but what is the fun in that? I struggled to appreciate the main character of Ruby as she was incredibly obstinate and her unwarranted venom toward the character of Flynn was rude and arrogant to the level of mean girl – which is not one of my favorite tropes. Ruby was actually a neurotic mess with a chaotic history of lousy taste in men and a default setting of poor choices, which she was continuing to make for what she thought were the right reasons. Despite my frustrations with Ruby, the storyline was easy to follow and entertaining with welcome hits of amusing humor and a sizzling bit of salacious steam.
I have loved reading Lilliana Anderson's A Beautiful series because it is like a trip to Australia itself. Through her writing I hear these stories told in my head with an accent. Each book is an emotional love story that tracks these couples through their highs and low. While they can be read as standalones, I do recommend reading each one if you are so inclined to get the full flavor of the series.
The latest book is A Beautiful Danger and it is the story of Ruby Garvon, who was introduced in A Beautiful Taste. The Ruby we meet here a strong, stubborn amazing woman, who is hoping for a partner that is a good guy with a stable job -- everything thing her ex definitely was not. In the process she finds two men, Joel, who checks all of Ruby's boxes and Flynn, who by all appearances should have a great, big warning label slapped on his muscular chest.
A Beautiful Danger had an interesting premise and not one which I normally like. Joel was certainly the safe bet and Ruby was emphatic that he was the guy for her, but everyone around her seemed to know her heart better and were on Team Flynn. It felt as though they didn't have much respect for Ruby or her feelings.
I wobbled a bit on my feelings about Ruby. Overall, I liked her, but felt as though she was guided by matters that made her seem shallow. This woman had courage by the boatloads, but at times kept it under cover. But it was the moments where she could be herself that she really shined through.
Joel or Flynn? Once you are in the story, the choice is an easy one. Each is a good guy, Joel is a little more passive and sensitive to Ruby's cues. Where Flynn is brash and devil may care. Both clearly adore Ruby, but who challenges her when she needs it most? They win the day.
This isn't necessarily a cheating book, though it felt like there was some emotional infidelity. That can be very subjective though. It is more about Ruby finding what she needs for her heart to become whole again, which happens is all of the best ways.
This series remains one of my favorites, if you have not already done so, check it out. Enjoy!

I promised an honest review so here it is....
A Beautiful Danger was a good read. I enjoyed the storyline and almost all of the characters except Ruby. To be honest, I absolutely loved all of the other characters, especially Flynn and Nate. I disliked Ruby because she was so judgmental, rude and just plain mean to Flynn for reasons beyond his control and he did not deserve it. Especially when he went above and beyond to be sweet to her. I felt as if she didn't deserve him and I wanted him to find someone better. It's absolutely hard to completely love a book if you don't like one of the main characters. This isn't the first book I've read from this author and it definitely won't be my last because I do love her writing style. I finished this book in one sitting, so that in itself says something about her writing. I look forward to my next read from this author.
Would I recommend this book? Yes.
