After the death of her mother 6 years ago Seona has lived alone with her mentally absuive father. She has tried everything to numb the pain of his words but nothing has worked. Tired of living that way she runs to Texas to live with her stepbrother Travis and his father Mark determined to change and be a better person. The moment she lays eyes on one of the cutest guys she has ever seen she is instantly drawn to him but he keeps his walls up and guarded. Thrown together by chance she tries to break thru to him and show him she is different but will Jayceon give her the chance? Just as Jayceon begins to open up to her the past rears its ugly head causing Seona to close up tight? When the tables are turned will Jayceon be able to make it thru her guarded heart?
Shew talk about an emotional rollercoaster!! I couldn't put this book down. I had to know what happened. I loved Jayceon and Seona but there are times you just want to grab Seona by the shoulders and shake her. I loved some of the secondary characters as well. Brendan, Claire, Travis, Mark....I am crossing my fingers that maybe we will get more on them in the future :)
Amazing job Rebecca Brooke and S. Moose!!!
We meet Seona and Jayceon as they embark on their senior year of high school. Seona is new in town, half sister of the star quarterback of Texas A&M and running from her past in Michigan. Jayceon is the starting wide receiver for their high school football team, but also dealing with the past and just trying to make it through his senior year of high school without having anything else go wrong.
When Seona meets Jayceon she definitely wants to get to know him better but he’s so short with her and doesn’t let her in immediately. Jayceon has problems trusting anyone except his best friend Alyssa and Brendon, everyone else believed the lies told about him and he never knows who he can trust or allow himself to get close to. Seona slowly starts to break down Jayceon ‘s walls and I loved each and every second of it.
Seona and Jayceon’s friendship is amazing to watch, and them trying to figure their way through navigating a relationship. I loved these two and how they acted around one another and their love for one another. The two of them are perfect together, and I loved watching their relationship grow.
Everything is perfect for these two until the Seona’s past comes back and ruins everything for her. My heart broke for her, and at the same time I wanted to slap her for how she treated the people who loved her the most. She was going through a lot and wouldn’t listen to anyone, and when she pushes Jayceon away I wanted to scream.
My heart broke for Jayceon multiple times during this story. For what he has endured from Chas, what Seona puts him through, Alyssa, everyone.Read more ›
Seona has had a horrible time for the past 6 years since her mom died. Her father has never been a good father. She has always suffered from his verbal abuse and now has finally had enough and at the start of her senior year in high school she takes off to go live in Texas with her step brother Travis and his father Mark. On her first day already torn between the popular group and a star football player that everyone seems to be against , Seona finds her voice and begins to make a name for herself and a friend in someone who seems to not want to be her friend !!
Jayceon is one of the best football players in school. He is a great guy and had always been popular , that is until he walked in on something and tried to help. That blew up in his face and now he has spent the past year being bullied and shunned by most of his teammates. He has his best friend Alyssa and Brendan who attempts to have his back for the most part. The new girl comes in and there is some serious stares between them but Jayceon is automatically turned off when he finds her hanging with Chaz , the bane of his existence !! A connection between Jayceon's dad and Seona's stepbrother Travis may just be the thing to bring them together or not !!
This story is a rollercoaster of emotions !!Read more ›
