This is undoubtedly one of their best albums. I love literally every song! I lead worship at Celebrate Recovery on Monday nights, and next time I'm going to share Dare You To Move. 💒❤

WOW!!! This album rocks all over the place. Creativity and musical/lyrical genius abounds. I have been a switchfoot fan since their first album in 1997 due to their unique blend of quirky, alternative-pop. Their album "Learning to Breathe" took them to another level with the quality of the production. Then switchfoot was finally noticed with their multiple contributions to "A Walk to Remember" soundtrack. Now with a huge mainstream distribution deal and the best album to date that blows the roof of the others (that were very good I might add) Switchfoot is poised for huge success!
There are so many high points on this album: "Meant to Live" is a great rock song that probes the meaning of life and the desire inside each one of us for "second life". This single is being played on many rock radio stations around the country. Listening to this song will cause you to dance and desire for a live performance! "This is your life" has a cool techno/bass beginning an some amazing hooks. "More than Fine" is a song that keeps getting better each time you listen. Wonderful melodies/rhythms and a great song to bob your head to. The album ends with a beautiful ballad "Twenty-four".
Overall this is the best album I have heard in a Very long time! It is creative, fun, introspective, very well-produced, and has terrific musicianship. You will not be sorry for purchasing this album- and it's only [price]!!! You can't beat that! Any fans of good quality music will love it!
I would have to respectfully disagree with the amazon.com review by Matthew Cooke. Switchfoot has always been a pioneer in their music- never copying other bands sounds or "plans to success". This album has an amazingly unique identity and is deeper spiritually than 90% of the Christian music out there.

This is the cd that i have bought by Switchfoot...again i've heard of them through other people that rave about their music. So being the listening guy that i am. I thought why not buy a cd by them and see what's really going on and everything. So yeah even after only listening to one song on the cd "Meant To Live" i knew that i had a winner in the "Beautiful Letdown". I didnt experience a letdown of any kind throughout the whole cd. Just when i thought well they can't possibly top the previous song. I get proven wrong (i'm glad) because i hate spending money on a cd and finding its not even close to the potential that the artist has.
Switchfoot isnt like that at all and i love The Beautiful Letdown and i do plan on purchasing other Switchfoot material whether it be another CD or DVD by them. Whatever is i'm there with it. Another fan has been gained by them and thats for real. A couple of the many favs on the cd:
"Meant To Live"
"Twenty-four"
"Adding To The Noise"
"On Fire"
I could list the whole cd track listing but i did say a couple. Normally don't buy the dualdisc cds myself because they don't really add a lot to the be honest. But i was cool with the video and making of for "Dare You To Move" as well as the acoustic performance of "On Fire". If you already have the original though i dont believe getting the dualdisc will add much more to the experience already..unless you must own all Switchfoot releases, i'm out.

Uplifting and refreshing music you'll want to share with the positive people in your life.

Bought this after browsing for music on YouTube, and found some fondly forgotten good songs. If it wasn't posted for free on YouTube, would have been a long while before I remembered the band Switchfoot, but after listening to the entire album, it was definitely worth the money, and will be an interesting band to recommend to others who might be into uplifting alternative music. I found more than half of the album enthralling, the rest of the songs good-but-not-memorable. There isn't a bad song on this album, although I could see some people rating it a point lower because not every song deserves to be a single on its own, there are a couple filler songs that didn't interest me much, but the songs that strike a chord resonate deeply with the spiritually motivated individuals, or those seeking to purge a little of the tension from their lives. Lots of replay value with this album, makes you want to explore the rest of the band's collection.

I just bought this CD, after having heard Switchfoot at a a concert in Los Angeles this summer (where I bought their newest CD Hello Hurricane). Hello Hurricane was so amazing, that I had to hear more of their music. Beautiful Letdown is full of thoughtful, fun and inspiring music. I've placed an order for another older Switchfoot cd today. I want to own their entire catalog! These guys are really passionate about their music and it shows in the product. Buy, you wont' be disappointed.

The vinyl pressing is very clean, no rough edges that can cut your fingers. Sounds great! Most of all, Switchfoot rocks! I will certainly buy future Switchfoot albums in vinyl format.

This is beautiful, poignant, and bittersweet record that I can really relate to and is for me one of the best albums of the 00s. Beautiful Letdown shows the bands ability to combine meaningful passionate lyrics with catchy melodies. I like the albums themes of wanting to leave the place or situation your in.
Some of my favourite songs here include the first song Meant to Live, which has an addictive grungy sound. The moving title track, which has some superb bass playing from Tim Foreman. Dare You to Move is very inspirational. Gone is incredible catchy with some very tong and cheek lyrics and On Fire in incredible sweet and Twenty-Four is a nice way to end the album. The only song I Don’t really like is Adding to the Noise which feels a bit out of place compared to the rest of the sophisticated songs on here but son the whole this album is an absolute joy to listen to and I couldn’t recommend it enough.

I am fairly new to Switchfoot but this album was selling for very little so I thought why not?
It has taken a few listens to really get into the songs but now that I have, I have enjoyed every play-through and I have found all the songs to be brilliant. The music is different, distinctly theirs and perfectly suits the lyrics, which are also excellent and leave you thinking. I particularly like the main track 'Beautiful Letdown' in which I feel I can discover a new thing about each time I listen to it. The thought that God sees us as a beautiful letdown is an intriguing one.
I would really recommend this album.
