This was an easy read in spite of the errors. Predictable. I think it was overpriced and feel a little resentful of that. I did like the characters and the story line had great promise. Just OK for me.

A very good story. This is another story about a younger brother having to take up the slack of a complicated situation between his sister who is sick but being strong about it and his best friend who isn't on either count. Then along comes the best friend's older brother to complicate the situation even more. This is a story about telling lies and keeping secrets to protect the ones we love. Beautifully written and thought provoking, it will leave you with a love for all the characters.

There's not many books that can take me through the gambit of emotions with characters that I can attach to, but this book put its hooks in me and wouldn't let go. The selfish reasons we all have for doing things for our/someone's own good are still selfish, capable of causing more harm than good. Facing fears, insecurities and mortality could push anyone to questionable or unfortunate decisions. "A Beautiful Lie" portrays such circumstances from many angles and how it impacts all those involved and others that we had no idea were tangled within them and turn the deceptions into a form of reality or truth (depending on the characters' perception and involvement). One of my favorite passages in the book states,"Some truths are terrible, and should never be spoken aloud, but then, there are some truths so spectacular they take your breath away," and this book does just that. The characters are interesting, sexy, funny and believable. The small town Texas setting was perfect for all things taking place and added that extra spice to the already spicy romance(s). Another fantastic book by Tyler Robbins, a must read for M/M romance readers!!!

A wonderful story of love and loss, friendships and secrets. I love the authors writing style, it grabbed me by the heart and didn't let go until the very end. There are alternative POV which I really like. On top of that the man on man sex was hot. This is the first book I've read by this author. I'm certain it's not my last. The minus-I saw a few editing errors, but not enough to interfere with the story.
I highly recommend this book.
I don't like spoilers. I'll leave that to others.

I've been on a MM kick lately and was looking for something a little deeper than the normal MM story. This fit the bill exactly. Betrayal, lust, love, guilt... it was all there in spades and I loved it. The characters are very well rounded, deep and hurting. Reading their journey of acceptance and forgiveness was wonderful.

I had to take some time and distance myself from this book so I could write this review. It's a well written story even if it dwells a little too much on the angst of the main characters. The ending had me curled up in a ball sobbing, heartbroken. For me, that's the sign of a very good book.

I really loved these characters. They each had depth and their own traits that are all so natural. You really feel connected to Jesse and Trip/ Ethan, they have a deep love and you know they could face anything together. Jesse is best friends with Eric who happens to be Trips brother. Everyone is keeping secrets and each does their best to protect Jocelyn and her son Jeremy. This is about finding peace where death looms, finding happiness where you can and the importance of family, love and forgiveness.

We've all been there, right? When it seems that life just couldn't possibly throw any more at you? When it seems like you've just made it through some tough times and then you realize those weren't the tough times, those were just the appetizers for the really bad crap coming down the tubes. That's where Jesse, his sister Joslyn, and his nephew, Jeremy, are at and it's a heart wrenching time for this very small family. They have each other, a lot of love, and some support that comes from an unexpected place.

Jesse has had a rough life. His mom left him and his sister with his dad when Jesse was just a little boy. Joslyn had to learn to be a mom pretty much overnight. Their dad died suddenly when Jesse was in high school. And Joslyn was diagnosed with cancer at twenty, when her little boy was just a year old. Joslyn's been in remission for two years now after a brutal two year fight, but it looks like her fight might not be done, which means neither is Jesse's. Jesse has spent his life in their small Texas town hiding the fact that he's gay from everyone except his sister. He goes up to Houston every once in awhile and stays far away from emotional entanglements. He runs their family's bait shop and marina and plays wingman for his best friend Eric which helps to keep up appearances. The fact that he has had a major crush on Eric's elder brother, Trip, is something he's kept to himself.

Trip has come home to Texas to try to find himself, for lack of a better term. He left the small town, went to college, and has spent some time working in his chosen career field only to discover he really dislikes finance. So now he's home, the place he always thought he wanted to get away from.
