I knew from the blurb that this one was going to be an interesting ride and that I’d need to just let it all happen without trying to pigeonhole it into a nice neat little cubby, what I didn’t expect was it to be so deliciously twisted and intriguing.

Intriguing is a good place to start because I’m going to state right off the bat that I can’t say that I liked any of the characters, well maybe one but he was a bit player, and there may be a bit of displaced admiration for another, but I was definitely intrigued by them in the way a scientist would be upon conducting an experiment or maybe a more apt analogy would be when you’re watching a horror movie and you know the monster is going to butcher the poor innocent but can’t look away even when the bloodbath begins.

Cedar Reynolds is much more than she appears and as the unofficial Queen of New York, she reigns supreme but what lurks beneath that perfect facade? Is she a psychopath? Sociopath? Or simply a woman determined to get what she feels is her due? Despite everything, and even now that I’ve finished the book, I can’t help but admire the woman’s mind. Intellect is a powerful and seductive thing and Cedar has it spades. Ellis, while he showed some sparks of life, the poor guy was just a total fish out of water. The most likeable character was Cecil, though that is a dubious honor considering his is Cedar’s PA.

The book is a quick read and well paced. There were quite a few moments that had me going WTF and having to pause to process it all, and then there was the BIG one that branded ‘deliciously twisted’ on this one. Also, if you liked the movies Dangerous Liaisons or Cruel Intentions, you’ll more than likely find this one right up your alley, but don’t mistake it for being just like them, just that they have similarities.

Beautiful Little Fool by K.K. Hendon is one of those books that you are either going to like or hate. It is not a romance. It is more of a dark thriller or psychological thriller. When I finished the book I questioning what I had just read. I didn't particularly enjoy the book but at the same time I could not put it down. It was like driving past a horrific accident and fighting the impulse to look. Rather than turning away you ended up staring with morbid curiosity. I had to ponder on this story for a few days before I could formulate my thoughts to write a spoiler free review.

Beautiful Little Fool is masterfully written. The author wove a very complex plot that was meticulously executed. The twists and turns will keep the reader guessing. The final revelations will be a complete shock. The characters are well developed and play their roles to perfection.

It was very hard to like the main characters in this book. Neither one had qualities that a reader could invest in. On the other hand, their story was fascinating.

Ellis Carrington, the hero was the unlucky guy that was born under the wrong star. Nothing could of changed his destiny. He went from being an ordinary guy to a ruthless billionaire within moments when he inherited 87 billion dollars from Harold Feingold. The power and money affected him and changed his character. He suddenly had money and power. The only thing left to conquer was Cedar Reynolds, the most desirable woman in New York City.

Cedar Reynolds is the Queen of New York City. She is rich, smart, powerful, and exceptionally beautiful. She was billionaire Harold Feingold's protege. She should of inherited his empire and 87 billion dollars. Now she will do anything to acquire this money.

So I have to say first and foremost the description of this book was so confusing, but in such a good way. I mean you know going into the book that it has something to do with more money then I could ever imagine, but little else. I mean you know someone died, and left someone a lot of money, and someone is clearly not happy about the outcome, but isn’t that always how it is when someone with money dies? Needless to say i was interested to see where this book was going. I have ready that the author things to reader should go in as blind as possible to the book, and I have to say for the most part I do agree, it helps make the book more impactful, but it also makes it kind of hard to review. So while I am going to do my best not to give too much away, if you want to be completely surprised abandon this review now, you have been warned.

So I have to admit the book kind of started off a little bit slow for me. We start off right when someone has died and all the planning and events that happen after someone passes away. Normally I don’t really like when a book starts up slow, but I think it kind of worked for this book, because the subject matter didn’t warrant a fast pace, and when the book did pick up (and it does in a big way) it made it more exciting.

It’s hard to say too much about the characters without making it not as exciting for the reader, so I am going to try my best. I would say the two main characters in this story are Cedar and Ellis, and honestly I had a hard time liking either of them. These two really don’t get classified as heroine and hero in my book. More like the complete opposite.
