What I like best about the book is how Mia compares ballet to other wonderful things she likes to imagine and how she thinks ballet is better than everything. The book really captures how a child might talk in their own voice. The pictures are colorful and beautiful. This story shows the rich imagination children have. My seven year old daughter took ballet classes some time ago and will love this book when I show it to her. A great read for little prima ballerinas!
Mary Lee writes in such a beautiful style and the illustrations are colorful and very well done.
In Beautiful, Magical, Amazing Ballet the illustrations are both beautiful and sherbet and dreamy pastel colours as in the first Mia book all the children loved. The combination of a story about a young girl on her first day of ballet class, the new friends who help her out, her supportive teacher and mom, help to foster the idea, that life is full of challenges. Sometimes we look forward to things but find the reality is a struggle. But with friends to help, you soon get back on your feet and dancing.
This Mia book. Beautiful, Magical, Amazing Ballet is filled with love, the spirit of endeavor and brings a big helping of self-confidence and encouragement for kids to get out and try new things. A book for all children growing up and finding their own identity in the world. The story, characters, illustrations go together so well to make this a poignant and memorable book. One that a child reading now will save and read to her child. Parents who were ballerina's when they were growing up, will like as much as their children do.
Not just a Princess (Volume 1)
I read and reviewed the previous Mia story and I must admit the narrative and the drawings are getting better. Looking forward to another Mia story.

The part where the other students told Mia that she was excellent was a favorite part. It showed class support. I would recommend it for pre-K to 2nd grade girls. Read morePublished 1 month ago by JM

My daughter was enthralled with this book. Fairly simple however. I did not however like some of the analogies. They did just not really make sense to me.Published 7 months ago by Barious
