A Beautiful Mind is a short story of self-discovery--living as an Introvert in a world of social groups and cliques. And learning how to live comfortably in your own skin without conforming to society's idea of normalcy. The author's words flow like poetry--sweet, spontaneous and delicious. I rate the book 5 Big Stars. Bravo, Jennifer C. Lopez--you knocked another one out the park!
A thoughtful book-open, deeply honest and made me reflect on my own self and if i respond to life the way that is best for me.
In her last book, "Thanks, But I’ll Teach My Own Kid," she imparts stories from her journey homeschooling her daughter, Ella (who is an author herself, btw). In "A Beautiful Mind" Lopez’s topic is even more personal. It’s about the discovery – and acceptance – of her own nature as an ‘introvert.’
In this world of selfies and over-shares, it’s rather difficult to feel comfortable as an introvert. But over the years, Lopez has learned to embrace her introversion, even celebrate it. I was moved to read how she’s managed to do this – and what inspired her to do it in the first place.
It’s hard to come up with enough superlatives for this lovely little book. But there’s no question the title is fitting because it really is the product of A Beautiful Mind.
