This series focuses on interesting characters for each episode. This time ‘round she has created an unlikely pairing and manages to provide the glue to bond them. Her ability for distinct character development is evident in the following description: ‘‘He hated days like today. Seth had no choice but to keep going. He had a full list of patients to see today. Unlike most doctors, Seth couldn’t sit in his office between visits and rest. Seth was a celebrity doctor. H spent his days driving from massive estate to massive estate, treating patients who couldn’t freely walk into a doctor’s office. To most, his job might sound like the perfect career. In truth, it was mostly hell.’’ A character becomes visual!
Charity outlines a unique romance as follows: ‘Baker’s heart has been broken way too many times for him to believe in love. Seth has no plans to disabuse him of that notion. They’re both idiots. All of Baker’s adult life has been spent building a respected and successful law firm. The few times he’s taken attention away long enough to focus on love, it’s always ended the worst way possible. He doesn’t believe in happy endings or even good people. That’s why he can’t understand why he can’t shake Seth. Seth and Baker had some fun once. That’s all it was to either of them. Seth believes in science. Chemical attraction. That’s all. He’s just as baffled as Baker as to why he keeps seeing Baker every time he closes his eyes. That probably means he should stay away. When they find themselves thrust together again, one of them will have to start believing in more than chemistry. Otherwise, they’ll never be healed from the past that shaped them.’
Once again Charity Parkerson exhibits a talent for diving deep into the psyches of her created characters – and the result is a zinger of a story! Grady Harp, August 21
Baker, 41, a respected lawyer, gray temples, has his assistant, Aric, and Baker feels like he'll never have Seth, the only man he wants.
Seth, blonde, blue eyed, a physician of the stars, usually hooked up with young twinks. His beloved sister has just died, and he was close to her. His assistant Kye is devoted.
Seth has not been able to forget Baker, because it was memorable sex, deep and exciting.
Our guys are holding back on the feelings, because neither thinks the other would be interested in more. Baker is sure Seth isn't on board, and Baker is depressed. So, after another sexy night together, the next day, a shocking sight has put Baker in the hospital.
Seth storms in and takes over. He'll be taking Baker home with him and handling his healing. While this is underway, Seth's assistant, Kye has had enough of being under-appreciated.
Baker is overwhelmed and was ready to give up, but Seth has been wonderful caring for him.
Many changes are coming, from the assistants, to the semi-retirement, to the moving in.
These men are two halves of a whole, totally made for each other.
