This book is very well written, grammatically correct. The only problem I found is with the formatting which was very poorly done, giving the impression that the author did not make use of professional formatting. Otherwise, this is a very enticing and interesting story.
I liked Alec's personality. We are able to see how he just can't keep himself from saying the stuff that he does to Holly. It makes him seem more realistic since not everyone in the world is like Holly. There was one thing that seemed a little iffy to me. In the first encounter, the stuff that he says to Holly is not only cruel, but not something that would go unnoticed at a university setting.
For some reason, a lot of the more contemporary stories that are similar to the Beauty and the Beast, tend to make the Beast like character a little too beastly than needed. I say this because this story reminded me of the Belle and the Beast, a Hallmark Christian Romance. In this movie, the male depicted as the beast, goes extremely angry one second and then calms down immediately the next second. Although Alec doesn't do the screaming and yelling, there was some similarity between the two. This story was definitely better than that movie but I couldn't stop myself from making the comparison.
All in all, I liked it! The plot was different and nicely organized. The story ends a little too quickly but it does become sweet when Alec's feelings are revealed. It was especially nice to relax and read for the current cold weather.
This one, not so bad. It had lots of editing errors (as in 19 within 300 locations, a 15-minute read).
The story required that you ignore the fact that a teacher kissing a student/entering a relationship with a student would be tantamount to saying "fire me and fire me now, tenure or no." A student and teacher kissing in the middle of campus? The explosion of the Dean of Students' head would be heard 'round the town.
Anyway, cute but predictable premise, great voice, poorly edited. Not sure that equals three stars but that's what I am giving it.
