The book is about Bella, a librarian who has a Pollyanna, head in the clouds, everything and everyone always has a happy ending kind of gal. She has moved back home with her father because her mom died a few months ago and she's trying to help him with his depression, job loss and drinking binges. A "biker-dude" moves in next door and shoots her down every time she attempts to be friendly until he does something that infuriates her and that's when the fun starts.
This will be a series about a group of women known as the Inseparables, who have been friends in this very small town since grade school.
Bella and Joe, the biker, have some serious issues to get thru = her optimism and his refusal to connect with anyone. Many obstacles that you think will never be gotten thru but, with the help of the town, family and friends, it works.
The book also had an overall sadness to it that I didn't anticipate.
Joe and Bella spent more time apart than together. I'm happy that they got their HEA but it took a long time to get there.
Overall, the story could have used some revisions and polishing before being sent to print, as well as some rewriting and editing to make the characters more believable. It is not one of Ms. Ciotta's best works.
However, if you like a story that is based on a popular fairy tale, are not that interested in the characters being totally believable, and you enjoy some racy love scenes, this may be the book for you!
To read some of Ms. Ciotta's excellent works, try out "All About Evie," "Everybody Loves Evie," and "Evie Ever After".
