This story has a small touch of paranormal as far as the Impossible Dream website that people contact and in a "Fantasy Island" type scenario they get more of "what they need" as opposed to "what they want".
Bella Mooney is the poster child for naivety and Joe Savage is a hard nosed, bike riding , leather wearing exact opposite of what she wants ....... she thinks.
This is a great romance that is not typical of any others I have read, has a nice touch of originality and nothing should be automatically assumed. I found it entertaining but a bit overly "nice" but then again we have Bella who would never fit in to actually doing anything mean so it was in character.
Bottom Line: Satisfying reading, entertaining premise, good writing but a minor need for an editor (or a better one) was apparent. All things considered, 4 Stars because I liked it so much I rushed over and bought the second book in the series and devoured it. So you can be assured I did indeed enjoy it . Highly recommended for funny , light reading that entertains and allows you to connect with the many characters in this small group (each of which will get their own book it seems). I am still blackmailing the author for an ARC of book #3 so wish me luck.
The book is about Bella, a librarian who has a Pollyanna, head in the clouds, everything and everyone always has a happy ending kind of gal. She has moved back home with her father because her mom died a few months ago and she's trying to help him with his depression, job loss and drinking binges. A "biker-dude" moves in next door and shoots her down every time she attempts to be friendly until he does something that infuriates her and that's when the fun starts.
This will be a series about a group of women known as the Inseparables, who have been friends in this very small town since grade school.
Bella and Joe, the biker, have some serious issues to get thru = her optimism and his refusal to connect with anyone. Many obstacles that you think will never be gotten thru but, with the help of the town, family and friends, it works.
The book also had an overall sadness to it that I didn't anticipate.
Joe and Bella spent more time apart than together. I'm happy that they got their HEA but it took a long time to get there.
