I would recommend(if you can)to wait for some of the other big publishers to put out a price guide.
I returned the book.
In conjunction with Zarnock's book(s), and the variation book well-known in the collector community, the above reference is more useful, but certainly not definitive!
Some car models are not even listed properly, according to the package number or descriptive category title.
The 2011 cars are only given a cursory
listing and are far from complete - just a small sampling that comes out at the beginning of the 2011 year.
As HW enthusiasts know, this book does not venture back earlier than 2006, and that is extremely frustrating for me - at least, from 2000 would be a good change.
One other observation...earlier editions of this book showed fewer cars (often there WERE fewer issued for those years) with better photos and descriptions (I believe it was 2/page, which equalled out to four for
the 2 pages you were looking at - instead of the packed format we see today.). The latter limits the descriptive usefullness of this volume and makes for less revealing pictures...a great short-coming in a book of this importance!
I'd gladly pay more for a more comprehensive and more frequently updated (same year, now) volume, with better descriptions and pictures - and
even a blurb, if possible, of ongoing trends in car model availability, popularity, and price trends.
Overall, this is a good basic reference, and I use it often - BUT, IT IS NOT DEFINITIVE! So, handle its
contents with more than just one grain of salt (or chrome, as we model enthusiasts like to say!).
