Editorial Reviews

North Dakota based stoner/doom band has been resurrected after many years. This is the band's debut full-length, their self-titled EP was released through Meteor City in 2009. Recorded and mixed by Neil Stein at Trandem Automotive. Mastered by James Ploktin (Khanate, Sunn). Cover art by Brian Koschak. CD digipack.

.......this album is mind melting. This doesn't have the versatility of their self titled EP but it does have the power, the heavy blues, doom and wicked guitar riffs that hits the hard pounding vocals in stride. A definite buy!!

Egypt's first record was legendary! The EP had everything you could ask for in a stoner/doom record. This album somehow just lacks that with the first couple tracks. As the record goes deeper, it gets better.. Don't just read my comment to judge this, listen and judge for yourself. The new Guitarist definitely shreds a bit better, but his riffs aren't as soul crushing, more just rifftastic...

The band has seemed to have made a new blue print for their sound. Gone are the clean vocals and guitar tone of the first E.P. Now, they use harsh, Lemmy like vocals, and a near sludge like guitars. Overall it's not a bad album, just a departure from the their other material. I know they replaced the original guitarist, but the vocals just don't do it for me, I preferred the clean, soulful vocals of the E.P.
