About the Author
I wanted to take a minute and introduce myself, and answer the question you are probably asking: "Who is Dennis Crosby?"
I'm actually a pretty normal guy, who went through a point where I decided that it was time for me to tap into my potential.
Without going into the boring details, I was just not satisfied with where Iwas in life. Every day felt like a waste and I could literally feel mytime slipping away.
It hasn't been an easy road. I have read more books, listened to more audio books and experimented with moretechniques then the law should allow. But eventually, things startedmaking more sense.
Every day the world became a little clearerand I slowly felt that potential rising to the surface. Inch by inch, my life had more meaning.
Over recent years I havelearned some amazing things that can be duplicated by anyone who islooking to make a real change in their life. Everything that I havelearned has come from either very successful friends, world renownleaders or really good books.
But why should you believe me?
There are a lot of people running around trying to convince you that they have all the answers.
Well, unfortunately for you, I don't have ALL the answers.
But I do believe that I have SOME of the answers (and I think the answers I have are pretty important).
Honestly, you SHOULDN'T just blindly believe me. In fact, Iwould recommend that you approach my materials with a healthy skepticism and a "scientific" perspective.
I want you to TRY what you learn from me. I think you will find that I am not interested in things thatdon't work. I like stuff that gets results and makes a meaningful impact on your life.
Only after you see that what I present is REAL...do I want you to "believe" me.
I'm a person, and as a person I have my flaws. But I also think myinformation is the best in the world, and I stand behind it all.
I honestly hope you get a TON of value from this!

About the author

Hello, Dennis Crosby here.
I wanted to take a minute and introduce myself, and answer the question you are probably asking: "Who is Dennis Crosby?"
I'm actually a pretty normal guy who went through a point where I decided that it was time for me to learn how to tap into my potential.
Without going into the boring details, I was just not satisfied with where I was in life. Every day felt like a waste and I could literally feel my time slipping away.
It hasn't been an easy road. I have read more books, listened to more audio programs and experimented with more techniques then the law should allow. Eventually, things started making more sense.
Every day the world became a little clearer and I slowly felt that potential rising to the surface. Inch by inch, my life had more meaning.
My real breakthrough came while I was reading the book King, Lover, Warrior and Magician. I learned that a large internal conflict that I was dealing with was just me suppressing my desire to share what I learned with the world.
Now I have committed myself to the goal of "helping the world live a more complete and fulfilled life." I know it will be difficult and I am just taking it one day at a time. One book at a time.
Over recent years I have learned some amazing things that can be duplicated by anyone who is looking to make a real change in their life. Everything that I have learned has come from either very successful friends, world renown leaders or really good books.
Either way, it is all amazing.
Why should you believe me?
As you already know quite well, there are a lot of people running around trying to convince you that they have all the answers.
Well, unfortunately for you, I don't have ALL the answers.
But I do believe that I have SOME of the answers (and I think the answers I have are pretty important).
The question you're probably asking is "Why should I believe what Dennis Crosby says?".
My answer is that you SHOULDN'T just blindly believe me. In fact, I would recommend that you approach my materials with a healthy skepticism and a "scientific" perspective.
I want you to TRY what you learn from me. I think you will find that I am not interested in things that don't work. I like stuff that gets results and makes a meaningful impact on your life.
Only after you see that what I present is REAL...do I want you to "believe" me.
I'm a person, and as a person I have my flaws. But I also think my information is the best in the world, and I stand behind it all.
I honestly hope you get a TON of value from it so I can get one step closer to completing my goal.

One place that was a very profound for me is goal setting and prioritization. I've been pretty good throughout my career about setting goals using the clever SMART acronym. Although he does not mention SMART explicitly, the author has a way of breaking down the philosophy behind SMART that makes it straight forward, and easy to apply. I found myself spending a lot of time going through the goal definition exercises because of how easy I found the methodology. I'll never get stuck on goal setting/planning again!
The material on prioritization have been eye opening for me as well. The author talks about the "Area of Impact" (AOI), which I relate to AOR in GTD, and Roles from the Seven Habits (although the analogy is not perfect). The basic idea is that you need to understand what the outcome you want is, and then understand "...what you do that produces the most meaningful results", then do that work that produces the most meaningful results. That seems like table stakes, but how often have you sat down and really articulated what work you do that adds the most value to the outcome you want, and then focus just on that? I know I didn't do this nearly enough!
All in all a great read. I highly recommend for anyone, and especially for those who are introspective and take personal responsibility for being more productive.
"First, we will start by creating your master list. A master list is named as such because it will essentially be the culmination of your efforts. On this list, you are going to put down every single thing that you have to do for the upcoming months. The tasks you write down will be based on the monthly goals you set yesterday along with anything else you can think of. It doesn't have to be in any order; it just needs to be as comprehensive as possible. If you can, try to create one for your personal life and one for your work life."
Focus on the statement "put down every single thing that you have to do for the upcoming months". What does this mean? If you literally follow the advice to "put down every single thing that you have to do" it becomes unrealistic. I typically do 10-15 things a day. So it is 450 things a month. So for 6 months it is over 2000 things. How can I put down a list of 2000 things? Also I can't even imagine all the things I have to do several month ahead because the life happens, and it is impossible to predict everything.
So what does that statement really mean? Well the author does not explain so we are left to guess ourselves. C'mon Mr author. Don't write things that sound good but are nebulous and confusing. Why don't you show us a master list that you did for yourself. Then we could at least figure out what you have in mind. Since your whole book is built around the "master list" this is not a minor issue.

I liked that there are additional resources and that the author is reachable
However, it was so straightforward I genuinely found it easy to get on with implementing all the steps. It was a great reminder of what works and got me back on track.
