Editorial Reviews

From the Author

Every author has a "demonic exorcism" novel - that book that they write to get all their personal demons into a form that they can look at, analyze, and better cope.  Most authors immediately throw it away, lock it in a drawer, or burn it, but I chose to share mine with a small community of like-minded readers and authors.

I wrote Becoming Robin almost 8 years ago which is the time in which the story is set - around 2009-2010 or so.  Times were different then for the LGBT community, especially the "T".  Our media representation was practically non-existent.

I set out to write Becoming Robin as an inspirational story from the getgo.  I wanted to write a character whose biggest enemy was herself and her belief that she couldn't be who she knew she was inside, rather than the battles I personally faced.  But I put a lot of myself, my struggles, my life into this book series.

It's chock full of subtle symbolism.  Nothing that I wrote here doesn't mean something: you can blame my classical training in literary studies for that.  My high school AP English teacher wouldn't let us read a single novel, short story, or poem, without making us obsessively analyze every detail.

There are currently three books in the series that are finished, and I'm still working on the fourth.  It's been a labor of love, and a beacon of hope to a lot of people from a lot of age groups, and I'm really proud and excited to share that with the world here on Amazon.

About the Author

Zoe Taylor is an American, legally blind author that has been writing since she was old enough to pick up a pen.  A member of the LGBT community, she tends to focus on uplifting or inspirational fiction, despite her love of the macabre and all things horror.

Some of her personal heroes include J.K. Rowling, Terry Pratchett, Stephen King, Edgar Allan Poe, and Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain).  A voracious reader, her favorite authors growing up ranged from Neil Gaiman to J.R.R. Tolkein

Ever the realist, she knows that what she writes (when doing fiction in the style of Becoming Robin isn't how the world really works, but finds it pleasant to imagine such a world.
