I have friends that do not like the hard core erotic I like- they'll like this. Sex scenes are just enough hot. And for my hard core erotic reader friends, a sweet story. Ut not so much that you'll get diabetes.
I loved the little added details with the supporting characters like Mr. and Mrs. O'Callaghan, plus Fiona and Kane. The Maclasters are such a delightful couple and their interactions add love and humor to each scene. I also loved that Lena finally came into her own in this book. She deserved to find her strength and happiness. I don't know that I can say enough good things about this book. It was everything I'd hoped it would be and more, even if we never revisit the Taking Risks series. Toni Aleo knows exactly how to complete a novel and series so that you aren't left wanting more, but would love to go back if she chooses to write about it again someday.
What I liked about this book is that Amberlyn grew up and was a stronger character than she was in Whiskey Prince. She knew what she wanted and was willing to compromise rather than demanding Declan give in to her wishes. I also liked how she seemed like a normal girl, worried that getting married would change her.
What I didn't like was Declan's mom always being around and putting her two-cents in where it didn't belong. I also didn't like the non-use of contractions. It was distracting in some points, and I found myself having to re read several sentences in order for it to make better sense.
Overall, I really enjoyed the conclusion to Declan and Amberlyn's story. I really hope we get Lena's book too!
