The first order was returned due to defective stitches, but Amazon took care of me without a hitch.
I really like these boots and are among my favorite. I also like that the soles don't scuff the floor.
I ordered the normal BedStu size that I wear thinking all the reviews were comparing to other brands. I wear a 11 in 90% of shoes I buy. The 11's in this style were huge. I sent them back and ordered the 10's. To be honest I could probably wear a 9.5 in this style. Nonetheless I kept the size 10's and they fit fine.
Read all this negative talk about the zipper. People the zipper is just fine. It is as nice of a zipper as I have in any of my other boots. I imagine people yank on them when the flap is not tucked in and it probably does break then. Just take your time with it and it's perfectly ok. The zipper doesn't unzip like some say, not sure what they could be doing to somehow unzip the boots while wearing them. I ride my Harley and they don't budge an inch, and everyone knows how much they vibrate.
These boots are my favorite that I own, and I actually ordered the brown pair too.
Read about how these boots aren't black. They are black, they are just distressed looking which I think are much better looking then shiny black new looking boots.
So if you're debating on ordering these don't be they are perfectly fine, just seriously go down one whole size from what you normally wear.
Lastly, I have to speak to this company's customer service. I originally tried purchasing the Burst Boot from their website, but I really wanted this color and they were out of my size. I contacted customer support to ask when/if they would be getting more of my size in stock and they promptly replied with an estimation of a couple months. Not only this, but they even did research on my behalf and saw that Amazon had my size in stock and sent me a link, bringing me here and making me a very happy man. I will definitely be buying BedStu the next time I need a new pair of boots.
Secondly, you will feel quite uncomfortable over your top arch. I did not understand why they made these boots so narrow on the upper arch! If only they designed quarter an inch taller on the upper arch, I wold instantly rate them 5 stars.
Even-though I have been using them almost over a month, they do not brake at upper arch to get some comfortable feelings. I'm having a bruise at the narrowest spot of the upper arch and developing rashes. I'm still hopping that one day they really get quarter an inch flexible and I gonna feel comfortable with these. If not, they may cause sever wound and I hope it would not turn into cancer or something miserable.
The look is great. They are quite near to the perfection except the stitching which is a bit rough here or there. Why you pay this much price, you expect Brand Name quality from every aspect possible. The stitching is one of the most noticeable thing in the boots and if you see some roughness or loose threads, you would not love it to consider fine boots. This is where it disappoints me.
The heel is just over an inch practically and I consider it great personally. Some fellows may consider taller heels but not me. Matter of fact, many men of an average height do consider the heels lesser than 1 and half inches. From this perspective, I admire these boots at the choice of the heels size.
The toe is wonderfully shaped to give you a nice feel whether you are in a bike or walking with a casual wear. You can even have a formal wear at places where the shiniest shoes are of preferences as if a part of dress codes. I did not care wearing these boots with suits and attending parties. They are quite a well fit for me as they come well over ankle.
Pay attention to have a very comfortable sole since the ones in these boots are not quite comfortable. Doubling the sole with comfy ones is a good idea but the form factor of the narrow upper arch, again this gonna be a big pain. Get better soles and keep in stock the supplied ones in case you wanna go back to them. I felt my feet hurting during a few hours standup job.
