Little Bear is playing on a log when his mother calls him the first time. Having fun he decides that it wasn't Mother Bear calling him but the noise of the trickling stream. As he ventures further he meets Mouse and Squirrel who both tell him his mother had called him. He ignores them also, pretending that they are just natural noises around him. As the sun begins to set and the moon comes out he starts to make his way home by which time he is scared. What's that noise? Mother Bear!
By giving you a synopsis of the story you can make an educated decision on whether you want to share this book with your child.
The lesson was to listen to your parents and obey them, for they know best. The author and illustrator did a nice job of delivering this lesson in a way that kids should enjoy and understand.
The short tale teaches young children that there is good reason to listen to their parents even when it might be more fun to ignore them and keep playing. Subtle and colorful illustrations add to the mood of the story. Available in kindle and paperback, this book makes a nice bedtime story or preschool read aloud to discuss with the children.
This is a great lesson within the story being as when you called you should come the first time.
Little bear is out playing in the forest and even though he hears his mother calling he thinks it is other things making noise. That is until it gets dark and starts to think that maybe he should have went home the first time he was called.
This is a great book to read not only at bedtime but also whenever as it is written perfectly and the pictures are great that they go with the story.
I loved the flow of this story. It’s well planned, well written, and it has a wonderful rhythm. Some bedtime stories are just a pleasure to read aloud, and this is one of those.
Gorgeous. Every page was a delight. There are so many little details, and I LOVED the customized border around many of the pages. The artwork is done in beautiful watercolors, and the pages are well designed for a great balance between art and text.
Lovely, though it seems like less effort was put into the cover than the inside illustrations. I would have loved to see a custom cover rather than reused artwork from inside. Still, beautiful, professional work all round.
