Having attended a live reading and knowing the author personally, I know for sure I will never let Antoinette watch my children. Good thing I don't have any.

This collection of 10 tales is perfect for some light reading while on the bus, train, passenger car, pontoon, frigate, steamer, 18-wheeler, x-wing, y-wing, tardis or bar stool. Worth every penny and more.

If you havent read any of Roald Dahl's adult stories, you will love this! The stories are funny and strange and quite unexpected. Unfortunately, since I have read the aforementioned books, I kind of knew where it was going after the first story.

If you want something that is quick to read and quirky, go for this. Make sure no-one is reading over your shoulder :)

On the Kindle side, it is distracting that the font changes half way thorugh the book. Disappointing.

Three stars overall because it was fun but I wont read it again, it just didnt quite work for me enough to rate it higher.

Of the 10 stories in this book, only one ("Will Fluffy Live Forever?") lived up to the title as the kind of story you use for the express purpose of traumatizing the little poo-maggots. Of the remainder, they show an admirable amount of hatred towards children but none of innocent cruelty that causes kids to randomly wake up screaming and run to their parents bed.

That said, it was well worth 99 cents, and stories like "Kevin's First and last Trip to the Zoo" may not increase bedwetting or therapy bills but are fun to read aloud with weary parents, grade school teachers and other people with a grudge against the young.

I wouldn't call this my favorite book ever, but it's definitely worth 99 cents.
It's 10 short stories that end either badly or very badly. They're all funny and they're just perfect if you've burnt out on textbooks and need to remind yourself that you can still read for fun.
Warning for cat lovers, skip "Will Fluffy Live Forever?"

The transfer to Kindle wasn't proofread very well. There are font changes in the middle of stories and the stories don't break onto new pages. There are also some transfer errors (lower case L showing as a one, for example) that are annoying.

The stories themselves are decent. They have some adult content, so don't plan on reading them to your kids. Mid to late teens should be fine with them and will probably enjoy them.

I love my kids, but I read them this book anyway. This is one of those rare gems that you will read a million times, and not get tired of. I laughed, my kids laughed, and that's all that matters. If you read to your kids like I do then you'll understand the importance of having great stories to read. These stories may be a bit morbid, so I advise pre-reading it first. Otherwise an awesome book.

I'm the first to admit I have a dark and rather wicked sense of humor. Accordingly, this collection of short stories written by a nanny who was obviously not very fond of her job really tickled my funny bone.

These "children" stories are about as far from typical bedtime stories as you can imagine and are hysterical if you can imagine someone actually reading them a child or grandchild.

I suppose this book isn't for everyone. I suppose more people can see the humor in a book like "Go the F to Sleep" (especially hearing Samuel Jackson read it), but for those who can laugh at themselves and the world around them, this is the book for you.

If you happen to have an extra buck lying around you should buy this book. It's short but the stories are great. I didn't expect much when I purchased this book, it definitely exceeded my expectations.
