This 10 frame traditional basic starter kit is made in the USA and comes complete with what you need to get started as a beekeeper. Includes one 10 frame 9-5/8-inch assembled, painted hive body, ten 9-1/8-inch assembled wood frames with waxed yellow Rite-Cell foundation, assembled painted telescoping cover with inner cover, assembled painted bottom board with reducer, one 10-inch hive tool, one pair economy leather gloves (large, color may vary), one Alexander bee veil, one dome top smoker with guard, the Starting Right with Bees book. I'm not sure what happened to the quality on some of these reviews. Mine arrived in perfect condition and has been excellent. My bees have been very happy and productive in this hive for the past couple of months. I recently swapped out the bottom board for a screened one as our temps in the south have been over 100 degrees for weeks and the bees have stopped bearding since I did that. We enlarged the entrance by an inch this week as well for more ventilation but not so much that they can't defend their home. Overall, very happy with this product. The smoker works great, the tool is fine and the bee hat fits much better if you wear a hat underneath it. It's too floppy otherwise. I have not bothered to wear mine much as I got lucky and have a pretty mellow group of bees thankfully. Hope this review is helpful. The book was interesting as well! Good for beginners and easy if you're just looking to add another hive to your property.

Don't have my bees yet, so don't know how they'll like it, but seems to be a good start for someone just getting into beekeeping. Probably could contact a local beekeeper and buy piecemeal cheaper, but this isn't a bad start. I have supplemented since ordering this with varroa mite screen, slatted bottom board and a super, so don't assume this will be your only investment.
