Jackie comes to work for her father's production company as Will's assistant (her dad's partner ). They seem to have a connection and soon become unlikely friends and her son is quick to like Will as well. I loved the journey it took these two to finally listen to their hearts and souls.
This was a great read. A nice romantic story between two people who probably shouldn’t be together but couldn’t help the way they feel. Will was just so swoon-worthy. I loved how he felt about Jackie and the ways that he would show how much she meant to him. He was older and had no time for games so it was nice to read about a hero who fully went after what he wanted. Jackie had a tough life and she was doing the best she could for herself and her son. But when her feelings for Will can not be denied any longer, it was a battle of heart vs. head. I liked the times spent together between Will and Jackie. They were sweet and loving and oh so sexy. I also loved Will’s growing relationship with Jackie’s son Ty-so adorable. I liked how the story played out and seeing everything progressed between Jackie and Will. The characters were awesome and the storyline was great. This was just a nice feel-good heartwarming love story.
I won't rehash the entire plot, you can get that from the summary. I will say that I took a star off because some of the "scenes" felt off, like it was different characters in a few of those moments. That's all I'll say. Other than that, I really enjoyed this book. I love that Halle can write these light romantic novels and then switch gears and write the gritty, dirty novels and then switch again and enthrall me with her paranormal series or books. The common denominator in all this are Karina's words. In every book, I find a character that I can relate to and their thoughts feel very real to me. That's a remarkable gift - please keep the books coming Karina!
