Kenneth L. Gentry, Jr., Th.D. is a retired Presbyterian minister, author of numerous books on theology and biblical studies, and a conference speaker who has spoken throughout America, in the Caribbean, and Australia. He is a conservative, evangelical, and Reformed Christian.
He holds a B.A. from Tennessee Temple University (Biblical Studies); the M.Div. from Reformed Theological Seminary (Pastoral Ministry); and the Th.M. and Th.D. from Whitefield Theological Seminary (New Testament).
He is married (since 1971) and has three married children (and six grandchildren).

A Christian for over fifty years, I have seen and heard a lot of hype and followed the John Darby’s futurist views of the so called rapture, and the futurist claims on the book of Revelation. But if one digs into the word of God AND comes to an understanding of the history of the ancient times, then, and only then can one begin to understand, and receive the wisdom from God to help you understand. Kenneth Gentry is one of these special people who digs deep, and understands the history of the Old testament and the New Testament. I have read many of Kenneth Gentry‘s works and I can find no fault with his writings.... Before Jerusalem Fell is an outstanding work. I can and do highly recommend this work!

Very well done. I was a futurist before reading this book, but he made his case and convinced me. I think the Book of Revelation has been dated improperly by most scholars. However, even though I now accept the early date and even accept many of the implications of the preterist view, I'm not fully preterist. I just don't see how it explains all of Scripture. Somehow there has to be a middle ground. It seems neither the futurist nor the preterist view is completely correct. But great book and very informative.

Mr. Gentry thoroughly supported an early date for the writing of Revelation. He uses internal and external evidence to support his thesis. The evidence that he supplies is well foot-noted. He ably responds to opposing positions without compromising his position. Mr. Gentry is also fair to positions that appear to cast a shadow on his position. Overall, this book is a good choice and a Good read. WARNING: There are some portions that are highly technical.

While I understand the need to justify your position, this book seems to go overboard. In scanning the book, it felt like it was just a bunch of "Foreword" chapters. If you LOVE listening to scholars go on and on and on and on about the research, you'll LOVE this book. If you are looking for someone to walk you through Revelations and explain the meaning behind each chapter/verse, avoid this book. Ended up returning the book for a refund.

A very clinical book dealing with the date of the writing of the book of Revelation. Mr. Gentry- a Preterist who believes the entire book of Revelation was fulfilled at the fall of Jerusalem in 70 AD- gives a very matter-of-a-fact account of his belief in the idea that the book was written by the Disciple John during Nero's reign. Most modern day churches feel it was written much latter. An important subject, this is not light reading. Mr. Gentry gives a complete treatment to the subject, but it is a dry read. I do recommend it, but be ready to spend some time with it.

This book may be one of the MOST vital books written in centuries.
The author has taken extensive time and intellect to research and compile critical evidence that the Book of Revelation was written about 65A.D. instead of the widely accepted date of 90A.D. by John.
The Revelation was a book of warning that added to the Olivet Discourse by Jesus in Matt. 24 in which the Jewish Believers were warned to flee the city of Jerusalem when they saw the "signs" appearing. Josephus, the Jewish eyewitness of those event, records some of those signs in the Jewish Wars (Book 6, chapter 5). Jesus told the people that the "end of the age" (i.e. the Old Covenant) would end with the destruction of the Holy City. He told them to flee, and Eusebius reports that not one of those Believers died because they followed the instructions of Jesus (which he told them about 40 years before Jerusalem was destroyed by the Roman Army.
Christianity today is riddled with misguided theology that is based on Revelation being a book that was written AFTER the fall of Jerusalem. With such incorrect dating, the Revelation becomes a book of historical extrapolation that defies the mind, logic and reason.
This book gives clear, concise EVIDENCE that Revelation is a book of Prophecy written in the Apocalyptic style (which the Jewish people did understand over centuries of time). The metaphorical and radical style of writing was very much in tune with the "signs and wonders" that Jesus spoke of in the Olivet Discourse of Matt. 24 and following.
Every Christian who believes in the Dispensational view (which was started in 1840 by one man) should receive enlightenment by this fantastic book which has never been held up to any ridicule in over 10 years since its publication.
As a Biblical student with more than 40 years of study in the Revelation, I can readily testify that this is one of the most vital books ever written. It has the realistic power to expose major mistakes in modern theology.
This book will rank alongside Dr. John Noe and his expose on the historical evidence that bears the truth about God's Word that has been desperately mishandled by misguided human agents of falsehood.
The book End Times Madness also shed the same light on the real truth of prophecy.
Cudos to this author for "rightly dividing the Word of Truth"!!
