HoooooolEEEE crap!!!!---Possible Spoilers---
I was SOOO excited to finally get the moment to sit down and read the conclusion. I sure wasn't prepared for the ride that evil Lucian Bane had in store for me. He comes across as such a great guy! Well....I beg to differ....
I expect, like the monsters under your bed, that Abraham is going to come out of nowhere. That doesn't happen--quite the opposite. That's all I'll say about him but I absolutely love what Kade did for Sade during their Abe time. I was sickened with the description and after having the AHA moment, it took me by surprise. Lucian DOES have a soul AND a heart!!!
Mercy--Lord have Mercy...but wow. What she does to convince Sade he is worthy. The patience, the fear, the risks! You did good!! Love her techniques as well. Very sensual. What a great conclusion to such a dark relationship, or what started out that way.
I love that there aren't 100 characters that you have to keep track of who's who in the zoo type of book. The characters are all important and intricate to the storyline. They are tentacles of an octopus to draw you into their arms. I love that!
The last part of the story was NO EFFING WAY! SUPER surprise and I won't spoil it or the ending. It really took me a couple of hours after I read the book to decompress. It's a LOT to absorb.Read more ›
At an early age Sade was subjugated to unspeakable cruelty at the hands of his father. He considered himself as "FUBAR", (F%#d Up Beyond All Repair). Now, with his mother back in his life, he revisits the traumatic events of his childhood in a conversation with her. For the both of them, this moment is very heart-rendering. And, as a reader you cry along with them. You feel his pain and anguish--the helplessness, the despair. Then along comes his "Angel of Mercy", hellbent on fixing him. Mercy is very optimistic. Constantly being his shining star, never giving up on him. She is very strong mentally and physically. Loving him unconditionally. She is extraordinary. One can't help wanting her to succeed.
In addition, there is Kane--the father, the husband, the vigilante, avenging angel. He fights for justice. For the ones who can't fight for themselves. He works behind the scenes righting the wrongs that society seems to overlook or unable to deal with. The hero! Together he and Sade confront the fiendish Father Abraham.
Beg For Mercy is an erotic page turner. On an emotional level it tugs at your heart and doesn't let up. Mr. Bane is masterful in his telling of Sade's transformation. This is one book that I could not put down.
In this installment Sade is struggling with his past interfering with his present and he is losing all hope for the future. He feels he needs to protect Mercy from this beast inside of him and the only way to do that is by letting her go, pushing her away. Meanwhile, Mercy has made her mind up to fight for the man she loves, the man she knows is deep inside of Sade. She is holding on tight to him and no amount of pushing is loosening that grip.
This conclusion to Sade & Mercy's journey will drag you through every emotion you can imagine. There were moments where Sade was vulnerable and my heart broke into, only to be laughing a few minutes later and then ready to throw my Ipad in the next. The constant push and pull exhausting, maddening and invigorating all at once. I often found myself expecting them to give up, thinking they were beyond help and then cheering them on and celebrating their successes. There were a couple of scenes that will resonate with mothers, it will break your heart and leave you gasping for air. I was literally clutching my chest and trying to keep the tears in and then I was fist pumping and screaming celebratory obscenities.
I really enjoyed Sade's character in this book, we were able to see him raw, exposed and vulnerable. You could literally feel the turmoil he was going through and the inner struggle with that beast within. Mercy's character was hit or miss at times until you see that she is struggling with her own demons and just trying to break through to Sade by any means necessary.Read more ›
