About the Author
David Misch has been a comic folksinger, stand-up comedian and screenwriter. He’s written, created and/or produced programs for all the major networks and many of the major (and minor) cable outlets, including the multiple-Emmy-nominated “Mork and Mindy”, the Emmy-losing “Duckman”, the Emmy-ignored “Police Squad!”, the Emmy-engorged “Saturday Night Live”, and the Emmy-ineligible “The Muppets Take Manhattan”.
David wrote “Funny: The Book” (Applause) and his writing has been included in “May Contain Nuts” (Harper-perennial) and “Faith: Believers, Agnostics, and Atheists Confront the Big Questions” (Simon & Schuster); he also blogs for The Huffington Post. David’s taught comedy at USC, musical satire at UCLA, and lectured at Yale, Columbia, Oxford, the Smithsonian Institute, University of Sydney (Australia), the Actors Studio, American Film Institute, the Grammy Museum, Second City (Los Angeles), the Burbank and North Carolina Comedy Festivals, Ojai and Austin Film Festivals, Lucasfilm, and the VIEW Cinema Conference (Torino, Italy). *A Beginner's Guide to Corruption* is a quick read that nicely accompanies Misch's excellent *Funny: The Book - Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Comedy*.
A nice escape from the all too serious world of today's politics. Today's world seems to draw from so much negativity, it was kinda nice to escape into David Misch's world, if only for a few moments. Took me less than an hour to read, I am a fast reader. A bit informative, in a silly kinda of way, educational to be sure, not for the faint of heart, though and somewhat amusing.
Mr. Misch seems to draw much from his experience into the entertainment world. He was a part of "The Muppets Take Manhattan", "The Mork & Mindy Show", and the original "David Letterman Show".
*Please note there is some harsh language, which some readers my find offensive.*
