There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
The female character, Melissa, who we are told is a hard hitting news-woman is weak and idiotic.
The writing style reminds me of something written by an average high-schooler. It seems to be written towards about a 6th grade (12 year old) reading level.
The book is really boring to read.
There are much better Apocalyptic books out there.
And as my title everything in this book happens in a "moment". Never in 'a second', 'a minute', ' immediately', 'quickly' or 'as soon as'.
It's a difficult book to read.
I finally have up not finishing the book after reading about 60%. Do I believe things like this will happen in the end times? Yes I certainly do and that's why I really wanted to like the book. Sadly I couldn't.
An impossible to put down book and one that wants to make you shout your joy every now and then. This thriller also shows that a good story is still possible without the need to use profanity or blaspheme the Lord's name anywhere. What a delightful work.
I didn't like the story hinging on so many last second miraculous escapes. That was a little too much mission impossible.

I started the book one day and finished it the next so I definitely found it a page turner. The author keeps the action flowing quickly.
The book wasn't what I expected. I came to it from the author's Economic Collapse blog because, if you look at my other reviews, I'm concerned about what is happening in finance and economics. I didn't read the synopsis or reviews before I bought.
I thought I was buying a financial thriller but finance was mentioned more in passing than as a central plot. In its place is a fight against a government agency that operates in the shadows, even outside of the US president's control with supposedly the aim of uniting the world in peace and prosperity.
That doesn't sound so evil, does it?
Well it's more how they would do it and what they represent that is the big problem. They are nasty people who don't mind killing innocents.
The book turns into a battle between good and evil in terms of religion. It seems that the author believes that we're in the early stages of the prophecies in the Book of Revelation in the Bible.
I don't have an issue with that as such as a basis for a thriller but viewed in that light, the plot is underdeveloped.
The big question that I found coming from the book is "How do you know what and who to believe?" It's a question the book doesn't even try to answer.
Terrible things have been done in the name of Christianity in the past. Everything is open to being twisted and re-interpreted by men and women who want to advance their own particular beliefs. For example, there are many different strands of Christianity with radically different beliefs. The author is also doing it as he advances his own thoughts about the meaning of Revelation.
I see some reviews are critical of the writing style. I'm usually sensitive to these problems but I didn't have an issue with it as I was caught up in the flow of the book.
I found it entertaining in a trashy, airport thriller way but I suspect the author wanted to achieve much more than that.
I've read the sample and thought it's worth a read, especially as the theme did interest me. so I bought it and guess what, after the sample part the writing got so much worse that I had to put it down. What a scam.
More and more people are joining the Remnants all over the world.
Michael Snyder has given us a straightforward look into the future and he has shown the answer.
I hope that many others read and consider the question of life and death offered in this book.
