Beginning Psionics is a well-written introduction for those who would like to develop their extra-sensory abilities. The author provides a wealth of research as well as a logical plan to would-be initiates to follow. I don't feel this book is for true beginners, however, as the author mentions concepts in a sometimes cursory fashion that I believe need further explanation. I found myself lost at times reading unfamiliar terms.
A real strength of this book is the plethora of exercises and games in the second half of the book. These seem like practical and fun applications beginners can immerse themselves in. I also enjoyed reading about psychic footprints, which brought to mind an Amanda Quick novel I read: Crystal Gardens. The heroine of that book has a talent for discovering clues based on distinct glowing footprints a villain (or anyone) leaves behind unique to that individual. Who knew that was an actual thing? In my future reading of ghost novels I look forward to finding other gems I have learned about in Beginning Psionics.
Be warned, this book is not just fluff and lore. It is a gradual workout program for your psychic faculties, but it is well worth the effort.
