"Thinking that I was going to learn a dark secret and then Natalie knocks it out of the park. You think that this book is going to go one way and then it goes way the other way, way the other way. I was pulled into this book and found myself wanting to know more. I can't wait to read the next book to find out what happens next..." - Mommy's Naughty Playground

"I am now questioning my sanity after reading. I don't know if I can take any more of this mind-f**k...Oh, yes. Yes, I can..."- Book Babes and Boyfriends Blog

4.5 "Don't judge a book by its cover" STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I am in awe.
I am confused.
I am wanting more.
I am needing answers.
I am I love with the writing.

"You are so damn beautiful… and sexy… and talented and… I'm so glad to call you mine, Saturday. All mine."

Wow this book threw me for a loop. In a good way though, a really good way. I admit I am confused and intrigued all at the same time (this is a commendable thing and the sign of a great book). I have so many questions and that cliffhanger has me on the edge of my seat in anticipation.

This is not your typical romance. It's more of a mystery romance or dark romance. (Which I happen to love and don't read enough of.) These kind of books have to be well thought out, executed properly and superbly written - all of which happened in this book.

Saturday (Yes, that is her name. I was hoping it had some significance or an explanation behind it but I didn't find anything. It was actually a bit confusing and I don't recommend using a day of the week for a name. Or maybe changing the POV to first person.) was a hard nut to crack at times. On one hand she was strong, talented, smart, beautiful, good and self-sufficient yet other times she could be awkward, unsure of what she wanted, hesitant and completely infatuated with a beautiful yet puzzling man. So completely infatuated in fact that she was "blinded" to things she should have wanted and demanded answers to.

"…but she had to ask herself: did she ever really have him? He still was keeping secrets. Hiding things."

Now don't get me wrong, I totally related to Saturday. Her flaws and indecisiveness made her so much more real and I liked her for that.

I love a good mysterious book and this was one of them. This is the first novella of a two part series and I can't wait to get my hands on the second one.

Saturday was a hard working twenty-four year old. She had two jobs but her real passion was art. She not only wanted to paint she had to, it was in her. She didn't have much time for a personal life but she wanted one and when she heard a sexy and stern voice behind her at the farmer's market she was intrigued and when she looked into his amazing green eyes she was lost in them. She dreamt of those eyes and saw them everywhere for weeks but didn't really see them again for weeks...

Mark was a mystery. He would pop up in random places where Saturday was and would be there the second she was having an issue. They started to each other, have late night phone calls and texts, it got to be a routine until it wasn't. Mark was hot and cold and Saturday could not figure out why. He would disappear on "assignment" but she didn't know what he did for a living. He says everything. All she knew was that she could not stop thinking about him when he was gone for weeks, months even.

This couple has their ups and downs. Disappearing and returning out of nowhere. There is a cliffhanger after she finds something she didn't expect. And What the hell does Mark do for a living?!! I know he loves art but I am stumped. This will drive me crazy until I get my hands on the next book. The book is something different, mysterious, a roller coaster and also wants you to smack the main characters. A great combo.

Quotes:

The therapist says this journal will be therapeutic for me. It seems she may have been right. I'm starting to feel better already.

Bless you, Lord, for the gift of a wonderful suit tailoring. And the beautiful, fit men who fill them out.

"This, my Daisy, is my desire...for you."

Omg!!! I was intrigued from the very beginning. I couldn't put this book down! And that ending???? WTF!!! I need more now!! This story will keep you guessing!! I'm still guessing! But it is beautifully written and such a great storyline! I loved Saturday, even though she really is blind to a lot of things happening around her! This is definitely a must read!

Genius! This was not AT ALL what I was expecting. This book has it all! It's a dark romance that will pull you in many different directions. Natalie e. Wrye has a way with words and will leave you begging for more. This book is filled with steamy chemistry, intrigue, mystery, and lots of angst. Somehow, the author has figured out how to expertly weave humor into this dark tale. The snippets of humor and funny quips are perfectly sprinkled throughout the story. Mark is a devastatingly handsome mystery man and Saturday is helplessly drawn to him, at times even against her own judgement. I don't feel as though I can say much more without spoiling the story. I recently dropped everything and read it a second time because it's just that good. I can't wait for volume 2!!
