Review

"The questions are all 'uncovered' and believe me when I say YOU WILL BE SHOCKED! Daisy and Mark have such a strong connection...Their encounters are explosive, and their chemistry and sensual moments are scorching. The 2nd and last in the series is just as good as the first." - Cover to Cover Book Blog

"Ever since I finished 'Behind the Blindfold,' I've wanted answers. No, scratch that. I needed answers, and this book didn't disappoint." - BCS Reviews

Good grief does Natalie Wrye pack a lot of story in a few pages with her books! In this second and final installment of Behind the Blindfold, not only are we dealing with Saturday and Mark, but a whole other cast of characters and drama. This review may contain spoilers from book one.

Uncovered picks up where Behind left off, with a spooked Saturday and a mysterious Mark. Axe is in the picture, although he is portrayed in such a way that he ends up being pretty inconsequential to the story in my opinion. So the real focus in Saturday's feelings about Mark. In the time apart they aren't going away. There is something about this guy, she wants him, however wants to know what is really going on with him.

Along with all of the Mark drama, Saturday also has to deal with her parents, both of her jobs, the slimy Cristiano and her best friend Kara. That adds up to a lot of problems and at the 75% mark the action is amped up to where you just can't wait to see how it's all going to end. While I am rooting for Mark, there is still an air of mystery about the guy and I was afraid to know what his real "problem" was. These lines are what kept me rooting for him:

"....Something seemed to bring me to you. Maybe fate....or the universe....God....whatever you'd call it." ~ Mark

"....I can't afford to lose you. You're the best and most unexpected thing that's ever happened to me." ~ Mark

Such honesty and when Mark finally comes clean, you hope that Saturday can see the man in front of her, not the one from his past. Natalie Wrye did a great job at continuing her story, giving us new plot lines and then wrapping things up nicely. She is a very descriptive writer which is what drew me in as I read the first book. Great addition to the series!

Kind of conflicted with this one. It did wrap up the story from Behind the Blindfold and give us the answers we were looking for, as well as throwing in a few additional surprising twists and turns!
Saturday is just kind of an irritating character, for me...I didn't really feel any connection with her. Some of the things she did, and the way she acted, didn't sit right with me. She was kind of wishy-washy, although I understood some of the reasons she did what she did.
We finally get the real story on Mark, even if it did come in fits and starts. I'm glad we learned his history, it made him more real and relatable.
I have to admit I was not expecting that crazy twist!
I was happy with how everything was wrapped up, and glad that things were worked out between Mark and Daisy.

I have to share this passage, because it absolutely describes me recently..."Saturday's look of contempt at the scene before her could probably wilt a fully bloomed flower. She couldn't remember the last time she felt this way. If temperment had a small, hers would be that of a rotten egg; she was in the foulest of moods."

Well I did NOT see that coming.. wth??? Talk about out of left field and no where near the radar!!!

Uncovered picks up where book 1 left off. It jumps right in and keeps on going. This is not a stand alone, and you must read book 1 in order to know what is going on.

More secrets are revealed and yet more mystery begins to unfold. I love that this author keeps you on your toes. I love the twists and turns, the unexpected stops and the fact that just when you think you have it figured out, you realize you were not even close.

This is again, one of those books that is hard to review. Saying too much or the wrong thing will completely blow a new readers enjoyment of the story out of the water, because it is most definitely the mystery, intrigue and secrets that make this series to good. Nothing is as it seems. NOTHING.

I still found myself torn on whether or not I liked Mark. I still couldnt decide if he was a decent guy or not. And some of the revelations that came in this book about him had me leaning heavily towards the "run Saturday run!! Far far away from this guy and dont look back!". But then another piece of the puzzle would fit into place and I would be back on the fence about him. Then another mystery would be solved and I would want them to have their happily ever after. Then something would happen and I was back to thinking he was a psycho that needed to be locked up in a padded room with a helmet and a set of crayons. But, then another piece of the puzzle would slip into place and I was back to rooting for him. It was almost maddening and I LOVED it. The author did a brilliant job keeping the mystery in surrounding him front and center. And the entire story kept me on my toes.
