Top customer reviews
When you are clueless about buying something you know nothing about, you rely on reviews and some luck.
This turned out really well for us. We do not need high volume (we set it on 2 out of 10 on the volume knob). It is easy to connect electric drums to this as either mono or stereo. The amp mixes two components. There is a high mid and low (bass and treble basically) that makes the amp sound pretty good. I did not even read the manual and got it going in 5 minutes once out of the box.
For this type of basic application this is really a good deal and I would imagine it would be good for any type of instrument that needs one, too. I can understand though, that someone who performs even just semi-professionally, would want something with better quality sound. But again, for us, just right.
The sound is what I expect from an amp at this price. The equalizer actually works better than I expected it would. It is a good practice amp for the money and I would buy it again.
Plugged a 40w pre-amp / equalizer into it. Slowly eased the volume knob on the pre-amp up as I put sound from keyboard through it.
Got it up more than halfway with no sound distortion and no overload of the large speaker. Then proceeded to adjust 32 filter equalizer.
Nice consistent sound up and down 88 key keyboard. Just great for rehearsal. Voice sounded good too.
I needed it for my microKorg. If you play electronic sounds with a synth or your computer, or if you like to live record or play with a variety of instruments, this is a great buy. You will be able to easily control sound levels from low through mid and into the high pitch range.
I rated it this way because I have a relationship with it. Sometimes you can get a piece of technology that is great and does everything you need it to do, but it lacks that bit of personality that makes it shine, you know what I mean? This amp feels good even when you plug something into it or flip a switch. I love turning the knobs. It is a sensational memory of making music with my friends now. That is why I gave it five stars.
I haven't tested the loudness because it gets louder than the neighbors want it to. I wish I could say more for the volume, but I don't think that would matter so much if you aren't playing in front of a big crowd.
It gives a decent, clear sound. It took a tiny bit of tweaking of the EQ to get the right sound, about a minutes worth.
I can't speak to what a keyboard would sound like through this, but for this guitar player, this is a perfect monitor.
