The book could be used as advice for children or adults who are entering any new stage of life. It is an easy read filled with good reminders to promote courage in facing new situations and learning opportunities. Recommended for ages eight and older.
What I liked most, and what convinced me to give this book five stars, is that I kept thinking as I read, "This is a great idea for anyone to navigate the world." So much of the advice is easily translated to life skills and should be used in school and beyond. For example, going for a job interview? Show up on time, dressed nicely, smile and listen, don't be afraid to ask questions, but be yourself--and I'm betting you're much more likely to get the job.
Well researched and presented "Being the New Girl at School" includes chapters on:
Confidence building - Getting to know the teaching staff - Choosing the right kind of friends - Maintaining personal independence - How to cope if things go wrong and much more.
A must buy.
