This is the first book in the series, and I look forward to reading the rest!
.. by chapter six I'd actually laughed a few good times - surprisingly. The first few chapters are third person, which flips to first person later on, but it wasn't hard to follow like some indie books, no glaring tense errors or confusing dialogues. Worst typo I saw was a few missing commas and a poorly worded sentence or two. The dialogue was tight and engaging, if a bit teenish, but that fit, as the main characters are teens who are part of a 'drug study' gone bad.
The further you go into this thing the more intense the story gets until your on pins and needles. I found myself stealing time from work to read the damn bambi book! The darker elements - when they hit - were thought provoking, original, and wonderfully gruesome. TIME SINK WARNING! - its long, and if your not careful it will own you and the book ends in a massive cliff hanger, setting up book two and the rest of the series - I guess. I would have been pissed to no end if it ended at book one but the next four books in the series are up so my freak out was averted. I'll definitely be buying book two, but after all the enjoyment I got from this authors work for the paltry sum I paid I had to drop a review.
Awesome book dude! I just hope the next book can deliver all your first huge tome has set up.
One thing that frustrated me was that Dan couldn't speak due to an accident when he was a child. The author never tells us what happened to him. It may come out in the next book but I have no idea.
There is some bad language in here but it's not overly done. I would let my teenager read this is she wanted to.
