This review is in two sections. The Crucible details my experience with other cases. The second paragraph is about the Belkin Grip Candy Sheer Case.
The Crucible:
I have had an astonishing number of iPhone/iPod cases. I had the first generation iPod Touch and found a case that worked beautifully for me. When I moved up to the iPhone I figured it was time for something built for protection. I purchased my first Otter Box. I went for a defender series the first time around. That lasted all of two weeks before it was cracking in three corners. I thought maybe that was a used problem so I went for the smaller commuter series next. Nine days later the bottom sliver of plastic right below the home button snapped. After this I decided on some cheap case from Dollar General because it looked cool. This lasted for some time before my iPhone's screen got cracked. At this point I was convinced that my Otter Box experience was just me being unlucky and procured a SECOND Otter Box Defender. Same problem occurred as on the previous Otter Box's. I searched Amazon for hours trying to locate something that would check all the boxes. I wanted it to look nice, fit in my pocket, be affordable, keep my phone safe, last, and finally receive excellent reviews.
Belkin Grip Candy Sheer Case:
My search concluded with the purchase of the Belkin Grip Candy Sheer Case for iPhone 4. It worked stupendously well. After about 6 months of constant use it still looked good as new but I had decided to upgrade to the iPhone 5. This choice was made easier when I found that the case existed for the iPhone 5 as well. I purchased both on the same day and have not been dissatisfied in the slightest. This case is easy to hold on to and clings to surfaces, This prevents me from accidentally swatting it across the room or dropping it. It does not slip off of my lap or the arm of the couch. It remains clean and tight fitting since my purchase in August. I do not use a screen protector and my phone looks brand new to this day. The raised edge means that it does not get scratched if you set it face down on dust or dirt. I have dropped my phone and event threw it once or twice (not on purpose) and it works like a dream. After years of searching I have found the perfect iPhone case. i recommend it to anyone I see looking at iPhone cases in stores or anyone with a broken Otter Box. It is simply the best.

******SEE MY PHOTOS ON BLACK PHONE ABOVE!******I bought the Gravel/Reflection which is the Teal/Grey combo for my black iphone5. This is my third case I have gotten. All have been minimalist cases, just enough to protect from bumps and low falls but keeping the slim, sleakness of my new iphone. The other two cases I bought are functional, soft, and I will use them, but this is the finest of them. First of all it is easy to put on AND take back off. So no worries of scratching my new phone if I want to take it off and change it out in one of my other colors. The material is soft, pliable, but fits the phone snuggly no wiggling. There is a lip that goes all around the front face of iphone which gives protection and allows you to lay the phone face down on a hard surface without damaging your screen. There are no noticeable sharp seams along the edges. Just a really fine fit and finish...No sharp edges along the bottom either like some cases. I like how the bottom hole cutouts are individually cut instead of one large hole at the bottom. The volume buttons are functional. The on/sleep switch on top is easy to press. The silencer is tricky because it is recessed but still functional for me. The case adds more grip than the naked phone, but it is still smooth and somewhat slippery in itself. It is easy to pull the phone in/out of my bluejeans both front and back pockets without collecting lint. I use this phone with a glass screen protector and it fits together great with no pinching and bubbling around the protector. Note, that on the black phone, the teal is more subdued. The blackness of the phone gives the teal a darker tone, very attractive still. The iphone logo on the back is still visible even on the black phone at certain angles and light. The Belkin name is subtly engraved on the side, not that dot looking thing on the back like in the amazon photos (thank goodness).Please see my photos I attached for you above!!!!!!!!!!
