I plugged the keyboard into this adapter and then plugged the adapter into my docking station, and much to my dismay, the Num, Caps, and Scroll Lock lights flashed briefly, but the keyboard remained inoperative. I discovered that the plug was not sitting securely in the PS/2 port. I tried to prop up the plug to keep it roughly at a right-angle to the docking station, and this seemed to make it work...but even the slightest tug on the cable or the slightest movement of the docking station caused the keyboard to stop working again.
I compared the PS/2 plug on the adapter to the PS/2 plug on another keyboard and I discovered that the metal cylinder on the adapter is about 1/8" too short. This means that the plug doesn't securely and fully insert into the computer's PS/2 port. I used a razor blade to carefully trim off 1/8" of plastic around the cylinder, creating a perfectly round plastic ring that I slid off the plug, unveiling just a little more of the metal cylinder.
The adapter now securely fits into the PS/2 port without interruption or need for propping it up.
Aside from that design flaw, it works great!
All-in-all great product, but the setup required a little bit of research. I hope this helps someone!
