Was looking for a reasonably priced router to replace my old router that I've had since 2008. I came across this one. Setup was super easy and its dual band is a neat feature, but what really captured me was the USB port which enables me to plug my external hard drive in and instantly access the data from any computer connected to the network. I'm not much of a tech guy but I try to keep updated. This router is ideal for the average home with laptops, tablets and a game system.

My first wifi was a Net Gear which set up fine BUT within a couple of weeks started going on and off and finally failed by week 7. I took it back to store but the store would only give a credit back. So I purchased an adapter for ethernet to USB to connect directly directly to the Hughes Net router from my laptop. It worked fine without any of the variable speeds the Net Gear 300 produced - which caused problems with my online graduate school work.

TODAY I received the Belkin, plugged in the wires and turned on my PC and it worked!!! without needing to use the CD that was included. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium. I got a Belkin on the recommendation of a friend who's wifi always worked and he was using a Belkin 150. This 600 is giving me 160 mps right now! YEAH.. This is such a relief. I will update if anything changes.

Summary: this item set up immediately with no need for the CD enclosed. It was easy as 1-2-3. I am not a computer Geru just someone who has gone back to school and at age 66 will be graduating this fall. I have been using computers since the 1990s though.

Plug and play set up with a terrific range. I even pick up a good signal by my pool. Gonna try in the office also. Great value at $40.

Set up the unit and my laptop said I was connected however the router could not connect to the internet. After trying all the obvious fixes such as powering everything down, and checking cables, it still would not connect to the internet. I called belkin support but was told this model was no longer a candidate for free technical support and there would be a fee for phone support. I was told I could use their free chat support, but when I tried that, the chat representative referred me to their phone support and discontinued the chat. It appears that Belkin no longer provides tech support and they have hired a third party (probably a company in India since everyone had an accent) to provide technical support for a fee.

Upgraded from a "g" router after increasing the number of wireless devices in the home and 2 wireless TVs. Can now stream movies on TV and work on IPad and laptop at same time. And, we are the only wifi running on the higher band so no interference from other neighbor routers.
Definitely happy with it.

I bought this to replace a Belkin Dual-Band router that had died too quickly. So far so good except the signal strength seems to die to close to the router. We live in a 1900 sq. foot house and the signal is only so-so on the floor above where the router is located. For the price though, it was a steal.

I had problems setting this up with the CD. When I called the number for customer support I was told that if I wanted help, I would have to pay around $75. No thanks. I uninstalled the software and hooked it up without the installation disc. It works fine. Internet speed is faster than I expected.

Horribly disappointed. I've been relying on Belkin for my networking needs for 10 years. This is by far the worst product I've purchased. My router is one room away no more than 30ft and I get disconnected randomly with multiple wireless cards. It's not the ISP because the belkin config page would still load. There's errors in the programing of the config. Sometimes I can't add a virtual servers because " an application hasn't been selected" Other times I add a virtual server and it duplicated to fill the rest of the page so I have to delete it one by one seeing range conflict errors every time. There's not even a function to mass produce port forwards because there's no reason to!

Chromecast can't even stream 480p without chopping when the supposed 300mbps is running nothing else.
