Works alright, but the female plugs are even bulkier than pictured. Also, be warned that if you plan on using a pair of headphones that has a microphone with this product, you will have to slightly pull the headphone jack out of the plug in order to get clear audio since headphones with a microphone have a slightly longer male aux jack and this device is not necessarily compatible with that (I didn't see this stated anywhere in the product description). Fortunately my headphones had an alternate cable without a microphone so it's not an issue for me, but this could be a deal-breaker for others. This could still work with headphones that have a mic, but the jack has to be pulled out slightly and held in just the right position. This would be exceptionally challenging if you move the jack a lot such as when traveling.

why settle for two? when you can have five!

Initially, I purchased this 2-way splitter but I have 3 children so they always somehow manage to end up fighting when watching a movie on a plane or in a car during a long road trip so I ended up buying the 5-jack splitter to end the war once and for all.

This 2-way splitter and the 5-jack splitter are both made by Belkin but it turns out that 5-jack splitter works much better than the 2-way splitter in terms of sound quality. With this 2-way splitter, I always hear statics and hum noises so I constantly have to adjust the plug or fiddle with the connection but the 5-jack splitter works flawlessly when plugged in.

The build quality of this 2-way splitter seems very poor and it was a waste of my money as this 2-way splitter has been collecting dust for several years now.

I recommend the 5-jack splitter, which can do what this 2-way splitter can do plus more, and the built quality is much better as well. Hope this helped!

Voice Track doesn't come through one jack

I bought this to replace a similar item from another manufacturer, which I'd had for years but which got lost. I figured I'd buy Belkin, and be guaranteed a good quality cable. Oh, well. I opened the package yesterday to use the splitter for the first time with two pairs of Bose 15 sound cancelling headphones. Much to my disappointment, while sound quality was perfect through one of the "split" jacks, through the other, only some parts of the sound came through -- the musical soundtrack (score) and special effects tracks came through fine, but not the dialogue. We tried switching headphones and confirmed that the problem is in one split jack. Jiggling the headphone jacks in the sockets didn't help, nor did playing with the fit of the cable into the headphone jack of the computer. Sad to have to warn others against this one.

I'm no technician, and some of the reviews here made me quite skeptical of this piece of equipment . . . so for those of you out there who, like me, just want to know if these things work, they do. They work perfectly. I received mine (2 of them) today and promptly plugged them in to see if both ends of each splitter played full audio. I have just the track to test this out; one with audio going back and forth between left and right channels. Testing this out in every case, I could hear both left and right channels through my headphones, just as I would have hoped. This tells me that the item is NOT simply channeling the left audio into one end and the right audio into the other end, but sending a "stereo" signal into both ends of the splitter. Also, the plugs fit and "seat" nicely, so I'm confident there will be a good quality and consistant sound coming through when it's time to put them to good use. Though the price is incredibly low, you can purchase with confidence! Oh, and in case it sounds like I work for Belkin or for the company selling this product, nope, I just wanted to clarify the issue since I was so confused reading so many reviews saying two different things. Now that I have mine, there's no confusion here!

I used these on my gaming computer and they achieved exactly what I needed. The computer is setup so that you can sit at it as a desktop computer, or you can kick back in bed and use it on the TV. The picture is cloned using HDMI for the desktop monitor and VGA for the television (I know, VGA, yuck, but my 47" 1080p flat panel happens to have a VGA input so I used it and it looks fine to me (for casual gaming, watching movies, or YouTube)). But, I realized I needed to also clone the audio. The speakers face the wrong direction when I'm on the TV. So, I hooked up a second set of speakers, used this to split the signal to each set of speakers and now I can choose which video and which audio source I'm using.

I've tried a few of these adapters before and this is the one I've found to have the best quality. I can't hear any added hiss or static noise from splitting the audio signal.

Used it the other day during a flight from Tampa back to DC. My wife and I were able to split the audio output into both of our headphones to watch a movie together on my iPad. There was one point where the sound for my wife dropped out but it was because she accidentally hit the connector to her headphone and knocked it slightly out of the socket. Once reconnected, she was back in business.

Although, technically, the description on the Amazon pages clearly states "3.5 mm" the packaging itself does not contain this term. I wanted this splitter to connect two headphones to the phone so we could both hear the same audio book. Although my headphones and my ear buds fit the samsung audio port perfectly and tightly, this plug is loose and slips right out without clicking in or making contact.

I cannot speak to the quality of the splitter for appliances into which this jack fits but, for my purposes, it's useless.

I bought this so my wife and I could watch films on my iPad during a long flight. I like how the white colour complements my Apple earphones. The sound quality didn't seem to be affected by having this item in place. Obviously unless using headphones with separate in-line volume controls, both users will have to agree on a suitable volume level but we didn't find this to be a problem. Having only used the item a few times, I can't really speculate on how long it will last, but it certainly seems well made and fairly sturdy so I wouldn't expect any problems with longevity.

Bought this to use on holiday, and it was ok, one side of the splitter I had to wiggle about to get a clear sound, and trying to make sure it didnt move or you would loose the sound I would have given higher score if there had not been the connection issue.
