Tried this because it was supposed to be the replacement for an earlier Belkin product, found listed in the Roku forums, which is no longer available. It doesn't get recognized as even being connected. Tried everything, factory reset, restart system, unplug/replug, nothing worked.
That's not to claim it wouldn't work for other devices where you can install the drivers, but on a TV there's no option to do that, so it just didn't work for me for this specific purpose.
But I got this lesser cost one instead and it does work:
Plugable USB 2.0 to 10/100 Fast Ethernet LAN Wired Network Adapter for Macbook, Chromebook, Windows 10, 8.1 and Earlier, Surface Pro, Wii, Wii U, Linux (ASIX AX88772 chipset)
You have to unplug the TV after connecting it, then it boots a little slower, but eventually discovers it without any other effort.
