Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

This had to be the easiest router setup I've ever had. And the least expensive. My telecommute job requires that my PC remains wired to the modem directly. No wireless. But I have an older tablet that only works with wireless. If I want to download Kindle books or anything else to the tablet, I needed a wireless router I can easily attach and detach. This Belkin was priced right and works very well for me. My internet connection is only 3 bps which is plenty for my use. I have an older Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1 Intel Core I-5 2430M CPU @ 2.40Ghz 4.0GB RAM. I don't watch videos or play online games so I don't need speed or a great connection. If someone needs a faster connection, another router might be better. But not less expensive.
I really like this router. I recently bought a used router (without an installation cd) to replace one that got fried (which was a great router by the way). One it arrived, at first, I had a hard time setting up my secured home network on my Windows 7 computer. It wasn't accepting the PIN number that was on the bottom of my router. Come to find out, the previous owner(s) had changed the PIN number. If you purchase a used one of these, without software, and it won't accept the manufacturer's PIN, and you want to set it up without completely using the browser software that comes built-in the router (because you don't want your home secure network details to be anywhere on the web). Go to the browser web page directly from the router setting on your computer and act like you are going to set up a secure network. On that page (in the details) you will see the new PIN that the previous owner created. You can either keep that PIN or you can generate a new PIN. Whatever you choose to do, once you get that PIN or a new one, click out of the browser and go back to your own computer's network set-up and enter the new PIN. It should accept it and you can go from there. This method works for computers with Windows 7 and 8, that much I know.
Ok, works fine, sometimes it loses connection though. just needed an inexpensive router for my cable broadband service. I'm working off an old laptop as well (which really should be replaced but I don't use it very often). had an issue in connection on install so I had to call Belkin customer service (outsourced out of the country as usual). The level 1 tech helped fix the problem, however the next day I could not connect again so I called back. The level 1 tech could not resolve the issue and promised another experienced tech would call me back. They did, but it was the following day, and I had already found a resolve on my own. If I get a new laptop though, I'll buy a better router. For the price for this, not going to complain.
update: May 18, 2011 -- barely over a month and it is no longer working properly. Not going to bother again with Belkin Tech service. In the trash this will go, now I have to search for something reliable.
I purchased this wireless router (the newer model without the antenna on top) about a month ago, and it's working like a charm! It arrived faster than I had anticipated, and it was fairly easy to install, although I did have to make a call to Belkin support to get the wireless up and running once the router had been connected to my modem. We wanted to set up a simple wireless network in the house, and this DEFINITELY gets that done. And without compromising our internet's wired capabilities for the family desktop.
The only con to this router is that downloads are not as quick as I might like, but they still work and I have no trouble playing flash games or multitasking online with the wireless connection. The signal is strong enough to work everywhere in the house and I haven't had a single connectivity problem since I got the wireless network up and working. I definitely recommend this router as an affordable solution to creating a home network, especially for when friends and family with wireless devices are visiting or staying long term. Great product at at great price(just $19.99)!
This router was very easy to install and is small enough to fit the small space I have next to my cable box and modem, despite it being a horizontal version and not the vertical version of the product shown in the picture. I have an iPhone, iPad, laptop, and wireless DVD player that all connect to it wirelessly and so far so good. (I just hooked it up last night.) I had the same router (Belkin Wireless G) previously but when I did a hard power shut off of all my appliances hooked up to a power cord I think I blew that router out, thus having to buy this new one. However, that router had lasted me...6 years, at least, so I feel I got some good work out of it. I am taking off one star not for the product but for the packaging, which I'm assuming is from the vendor I bought it from and not Belkin. When I opened the, what looked like, brand new box I was shocked to find that they had not included 1) the user manual 2) the installation guide and 3) the easy install CD!!!! I looked in the box, in the few bits of cardboard the router comes in, in the shipping box, etc etc and these just were not there. Thankfully, I have done a few router installations in my time so between that, and looking up instructions on my iPhone (thanks to cellular service) I was able to do it the old-fashioned way. But for someone who would need to rely on using the guide/CD they would have had to return it and suffered the further delay in having internet, which, for me would have been a big deal because I often work from home.
I have been using this router now for years and it always works absolutely perfectly. Never have had to do the unplug and replug to get it working again. Great signal everywhere.
