Great Helmet for under $200....a couple other reviews of helmets I tried as well...
on April 1, 2016
Really happy with this helmet. Could have less wind noise, but I feel like I have had far more expensive helmets that are very similar, noise wise. Very cool looking helmet and the padding inside is Great! I used the chart for sizing and felt it was correct for me. I ordered 4 helmets at the same time to choose one, and this is the one I chose. (other 3: Duke 120, 140, and Bell Qualifier). I was in the market for a helmet between $100-$200 hence the purchases I made. I really liked the look of the Duke helmets, but felt they were cheaper made that either of the 2 bell helmets. I also felt like the padding inside the Duke helmets was thinner, causing the helmet to rattle around a little more than I would like. For $100, I felt that both Dukes and the Bell Qualifier were great helmets. The Bell Qualifier helmet was very nice and the Vortex is not WAY better, but I did like the padding better inside. I felt like there was a better spot for my ears to go inside the Vortex vs Qualifier (if you were going to use ear buds or a communication device I would go with the vortex). It is a little pricey to add a second visor to this helmet, but I felt this helmet was worth the extra money. I searched online to see If I could find a comparison between these 4 helmets and found very little info aside from individual helmet reviews, so hopefully this helps others out. For $179 bucks this is a very nice helmet!!
