~First:I was totally, I mean totally digging Armando. Then he and Catalina together= Ballistic!! Had no idea I get on board so quickly. Then...."sigh".
~ Second: Donna Nera was LIT!! And, baby Donna Eve = BRAVA Ladies, BRA-VA!!
~ Third: Catalina nailed it: the women control more than these men think!
~ Lastly: I'm going down with the Marietta ship. That's my girl. I understand she had to be put in check but dang! Carlo and Marietta - alone; together? There's a lot of 'unresolved' feelings there. I'm torn because I adore Lorenzo and Marietta together. I'm ambivalent about Adara. But, she loves Carlo so, eh -- I can tolerate her.
~ But Finally: My man Gio: came out the coma raising hell!!

I know now why Giovanni chose Mirabella - she is the original "Ride Or Die Woman" to the 10th power. Some of the things she said and did were scary but necessary......Don't mess with her man or her family or you will lose. Mirabella came into her own and I hope she continues to be what she was meant to be in the last two books. (Please let it be soon :))
I got mad respect for Giovanni - like the character Arielle said "He's not evil and he's not good.....he's Giovanni" In this book you really see why everyone depended on his ruthlessness, his strength it kept the family glued together. Even in his madness he was still thinking, plotting showing who is the Boss of all Bosses. His enemies and so-called friends counted him out but that was their mistake.
The rest of the characters are a hot mess. I was so disappointed in Dominic at first but I believe he will slowly get back in my graces he is a survivor he needs healing. Catalina is a psychopath in a dress. Carlos will always be my Boo he needs to be happy (Bad boys need love too) Armando got his due, Marietta and Lorenzo are getting what they deserve I won't go too far into that. And the secret revealed....I kind of suspected it.....the same blue eyes. This was a wonderful ride. Thanks Sienna keep em' coming.
My previous criticism of this story was the fact that Mira was constantly crying throughout the series. She always came off weak and easily manipulated by her family. In the past seven books every time she discovered something new about her husband or family she cried and went against her husband. This book should have been titled the rise of the Donna because Mira gains her strength by being isolated once her husband is in a coma.
I loved how the author opens up Mira's eyes to the people in her life and focuses the story on her rather than all the side characters. That was such a big problem in the past books, while she does give you a touch of the rest of the family half of the book doesn't focus on their side issues and problems. Once Mira gets a touch her husband's power she starts to take on his traits. People in her own household begin to fear the new Donna and her lack of emotion. The author does a great job of illustrating how the Donna has changed as a wife and mother over the years. I actually understand why her character has such a soft heart and how the Don had always shielded her from pain.
But when the Don wakes up from his coma and sees who is wife has become and the rules she has broken....
Now the Don is in a coma for 80% of this book but when he wakes up, he has a quiet presence. The Donna nor the reader really knows what he's thinking or plotting. But when you find out... The Don comes back stronger than ever and in more control over his family and especially his wife when he has to break her. That scene is the limo is no joke.
I couldn't even put this book down and now I've re-read the ending twice because it's so good.
Sienna Mynx has proven that she is a master story teller and if she stays on this path, the next two books will be even better. Kudos to her taking her time to ensure she produced the best quality of work for her readers.
