Some bits are fascinating(MH17), some bits less so

Bellingcat's work is impressive and much appreciated, and this documentary helps provide the backstory.
This is a fascinating portrait of a group of volunteers(initially) who armed primarily with their initiative and drive, were able to have a greater impact on the western media than the Potemkin forces fielded by Putin, Assad, and other tinpot dictators.
In recent years there has been discussion around the dethroning of "traditional" news elites, whose assessment was uniformly accepted as "the truth". Perhaps the "post-elites" order is primary information that anyone could independently verify, if they are interested?

Important and inspiring

If you're at all interested in investigation, journalism, or how the powerful try to suppress and discredit truth and how ordinary people can stand up to it, this is a must watch. The film also touches on the democratization of publishing and broadcasting information that used to be the sole realm of old institutions like newspapers and government agencies. Bellingcat style journalism is ever more important with recent threats to democracy by authoritarian leaders.

In the world where misinformation can make millions believe in lies, this has never been important as it is now.
