This is a spectacular port of Doom to android. I have Doom 3 BFG Edition for my Shield Tablet but the versions of Doom 1 and 2 are untouched and cannot use mods, and Final Doom isn't included either.
This however allows me to play Doom 1, 2, and Final Doom as well as countless mods and fan made level packs. I do highly enjoy D-GLES as well, but I prefer playing Brutal Doom when playing Doom. This app is the only way to do that on Android as far as I know. Performance is great, even though the app often crashes when quitting one of the games inside the app. No matter though. A simple restart and you're off to playing another Doom game of your choosing.
Hexen and Heretic ALSO work with this in case you're wondering. However, even though I can get the mods Brutal Heretic and Brutal Hexen working on my PC, they autocrash the app when trying to load them up here. Not sure why, but I wish this didn't happen. Either way both of those games are playable including fan made level packs in this app, unfortunately it'll have to be a rather vanilla experience.
Saving used to be fine and doable with the controller, however lately I have to use the Shield Controller's mouse pad to hit the on screen Enter key when saving since button presses no longer do it. This is basically a non issue.
Gameplay is fast and smooth (considering my Shield Tablet hardware anyway) and although a TON of mods don't work, Brutal Doom and Brutal Doom 64 both work great and seemingly without issue. If you're looking for the best way to play Doom on your Android device, as well as being able to play Hexen AND Heretic in the same app, this is the app to buy.

Awesome app! It works with most of the Doom II mods, including the new Zion mod that converts the old weapons into the new ones from Doom 2016! (Now to get the music mod running...)Overall if you can live with the occasional bug and crash, you won't regret getting this!(For the mods and wad files to work, some users might have to put one of each file into the directory Beloko/Doom/Full and then create two separate folders named WADS and MODS respectively. Then put a second copy of the Doom II WAD, and the Mod of your choice into each of them.)Hope I helped!
