They come with metal clips which snuggly hold the roller. Sets hair in no time and lasts all day. And if you use a heat protection spray before you roll your hair, curls last twice as long and are very soft to the touch.
I stupidly stacked my 2 sets while heating because I don't have the counter space at my small sink. Melted a hole in the center of the bottom plastic lid. So don't do that.
My only drawbacks are the "color/size coded" pins. They are navy blue, black and pink. Navy and black look downright identical and I always grab the wrong size. My other complaint is that I think my rollers do overheat from time to time.
Other than that. I love this set. No beginners curve either. Easy to use the first time.
*Get good and hot
*lots of rollers
*pretty good clips that actually work(bonus: clip pouch)
*nice case with cord wrapper/keeper on bottom
*I like the edges/grip .. for some reason these seem easier to roll than all the others I have.. odd thing to like, but I did notice it. note: top side did in fact stay cool, but bottom edge was pretty hot!
*curls last ALL day!
*too small for my style, would like larger rollers. the large is more like a medium, and the med is more like a small. I guess this issue depends on the length of hair and desired look.
*took a little long to heat up (15 mins) most rollers today heat up quicker..
the heat indicator is on the lid, which I thought was odd, would be better on roller, I'd think.. but it did turn red, so it must work ??
*doesn't come with the metal pins, only the clips..(but I like the clips)
*rollers are set close together in case, a little difficult to get out.. but not a huge deal.
*not ceramic or ionic.. didn't notice this, or I may not have gotten them.. maybe not an issue if you don't use a lot of heat tools.
All in all, I would recommend them for sure, just be aware that you are not getting large, or jumbo rollers..
I recommend this hairsetter due to the softness of the flocked rollers, no tangles and no damage done to my hair after using these for years, however I wish they still had the original setter - was more compact for traveling and easier to reach the rollers.
There is a warning to wash your hands after touching the plug due to mercury, and that is a bit disturbing!
Would like to know if anyone knows where to order replacement rollers for this hairsetter? I would like to use only small or medium rollers and have no use for the large size?????

I really like these rollers. I gave it 3 stars only because I wish there were more large rollers, but overall it is great and the clips are really good too, very easy to do.Published on December 29, 2010 by NavyJamie
