  • Choose from 3 dictionaries
  • Track scores and achievements online

Product Description

Dropwords is word-finding puzzle that combines some elements of Scrabble and Boggle, with a dash of Bejeweled. Valid words boost your score and the dwindling timer; used letters disappear and new ones drop down from above.

Now with optional access to PapayaMobile's social network, global leaderboards, and achievements!

The game offers three dictionaries:
1. Scrabble: contains all the 2-to-8-letter words from the SOWPODS list of Scrabble competition words. This amounts to 114575 words, including both US and UK spellings. Because this is a Scrabble dictionary, proper nouns like "June" or "Rome" are not included. Plurals are included.
2. Webster's: based on the Webster's New International Dictionary, 2nd Edition, this contains 87422 2-to-8-letter words. Includes some proper nouns, but not plurals or Scrabble-specific words (such as my own favourite, "QI"!). I have added certain words that seemed to be missing in error: BOX, HAS, KID, NEAR, FAVA, HID, PAID, EUROPE.
3. Both! The combination of the Scrabble and Webster's dictionaries, comprising 153139 words. This is the dictionary used by default.

You can switch dictionary via the game's Options dialog.

Have fun!

This word game is very similar to "Bookworm". I am a HUGE fan of that game so I gave this a try. You form words from letters in vertical columns. It is a nice change from other word games, and trains your mind to look at how words are formed in a different way. Easy to see and use. Give it a try!

I have searched for a word program like this since I got my Fire for Christmas. What I wanted was this type of game without the stressful timed game. That is great for the young and "game" but for a older and slower person I needed the ability to make it last for days if I wanted to.
I think everything about the options is perfect, I could not ask for a better game.

I enjoyed playing this for a few months or so earlier this year, then life got extra busy. Came back today; and good grief, a bright white *flashing* ad for "1 free play" right at the top of the screen that doesn't go away - it takes you to an app that isn't even available for a Kindle, which is what I use to play. SO obnoxious, SO not playing anymore! (Seriously: avoid if flashing causes eye issues or worse!!)

I like this game more than the others I have on my Kindle. I play it every night before going to bed. I also play solitare, but the ads are getting really bad, and show up almost every other game. This one has no ads and is fun; I must also qualify that because most of the words you can make are three and four letter words. It helps to improve your Scrabble score, too, and that's why I bought it originally. If you are really good, you can create 5, 6 and 7 letter words also. But it's harder to do, and you can get a high score with any two three and four letter words anyway. i usually use the slower untimed game, because I am older and slower, but you can really challenge yourself with normal and high speed timing.

This game seemed like it has good potential. Lots of options for easier or harder games. However the addition of the flashing ad saying NEW GAME at the top of the screen after a few minutes of play ruined it for me. What a waste.
