1. Text Sharpness - Text sharpness was one of the biggest reason I went with 4k resolution. With 4k resolution at 32", the pixel density (ppi) comes at 139 which is enough to not make this monitor inferior to the macBook display (ppi=227) when it comes to text sharpness. I had a 27" 1440p monitor (ppi=109) before and I always hated the fuzzy text it produced.
2. Good contrast, especially with black background - Because of VA panel this has a very good contrast that helps with black backgrounds. On top of that, HDR mode (even though its not a true HDR) enhances the contrast and the colorful texts in intelliJ (Dracula theme with full black background) and Terminal look gorgeous.
3. More real state (especially height) - I feel either 27" or ultrawide 34" monitors have slightly less height than my liking. 32" nails it. Ultrawide 38" will do as well, but I am yet to see a good value 4k ultrawide 38".
The auto brightness adjustment seems to work well so far and proved to be a bonus, that I quite like. No need to adjust the brightness manually anymore. This monitor is also flicker free which is supposed to be good for my eyes, but I am not sure I will be able to tell the difference from my previous monitor. No observable light bleed, no significant color fading and given that I only use it for work I did not bother the not so great viewing angles that VA panels usually have and some other reviewers have complained about.
Out of the box settings for this monitor is great and I do not think I had to change too many settings. I did have to scale this display in the macBook 'System Preferences -> Display' settings in favor of the larger texts because with 4k resolution your texts would look too small and given that my monitor is at least 2 ft from my eyes I had to select a 'Less Space & Larger Text' option - https://www.macobserver.com/tips/how-to/4k-monitor-retina-mode/
Only downside for me is not so adjustable stand that comes with it but it does have VESA mount that you can make use of if you really want it to be adjustable. For me the height of this monitor was low and I remedied this by putting couple of books underneath it.
Overall a very good 4k 32" monitor and I am quite happy with my purchase.
Very plastic frame, but sturdy VESA mount, audio has good volume but so-so quality. I'm not a gamer so i dont know if this VA panel at 60hz would be good enough. There were settings for HDR and other auto adjusting settings but i haven't tried them out.
I'm very happy with this affordable 32" 4k display that works out of the box with my Macs with USB C!
If you're looking for a cheap, large 4k psuedo-TV/multitasking screen/content creation tool then I'd say that the BenQ EW3270U is a viable option. If you prioritize eye care and are serious about cutting down your blue light intake, then I would recommend this display as it has many options for you.
However, when looking to buy products with as many details to consider as a computer display, I'd recommend doing some research and looking into some other options. Most people care about what their monitor is capable of and don't automatically buy the first product that they see.
I recommend going on rtings.com if you haven't already and do some comparing and window shopping. If nothing else tickles your fancy and you can live with the slow 60hz refresh rate, then this display is a good candidate for what you should buy.
Another solid option for a large 4k 60hz screen at this price point is the Dell S3221QS 32 Inch Curved 4K monitor, also sold here at amazon.
Top reviews from other countries
I needed to add another monitor and wanted it to be an HDR 4K.
This 32-inch unit, EW3270U, has great reviews, often named "the best overall 4K HDR monitor", so I decided to give it a try. Prior to buying, I read a lot about VA panels, liked the idea of blacker blacks, but had a lot of doubt.
Once the monitor arrived, all my expectations, both good and bad, were met 100%.
1. This monitor has tremendous black levels. Just beautiful. It was painful to look at my BL2711U side by side with this unit as you could clearly see how IPS has much more glow.
2. However, viewing angles on EW3270U are only acceptable if you watch a movie on it from a 2-meter distance.
My use is software development, and I need uniform colors. When seating about 70 cm from the monitor, I really loved the size of it (much better than 27 inch), but a full screen window would have black background in the middle and shiny gray on both left and right edges. So, for office use viewing angles are unacceptable. What is worse, because you see different brightness from left and right eyes, the whole picture looks shiny. Instead of matte gray, you see shiny gray and that starts hurting your eyes pretty quickly.
3. The VA and text crispness. From the very first second, I thought something was wrong with scaling. Text and lines all looked fuzzy and soft. I played with Windows scaling and everything, ClearType etc, but just could not fix it. The main reason for me to use higher than 1080p resolution monitors is to see nice thin lines and crisp text, e. g. very visible on Windows Task Manager CPU Graphs. For a couple of hours of experimentation, I thought something was wrong in my configuration.
Then I started reading, and found out that quite a few people note that VA panels in general, due to their specific subpixel arrangements, are not able to reproduce crisp thin lines becase they dim half-pixels and thus make "holes" in the picture.
That was a major disappointment because by that time I already fell in love with the deepth of the blacks of this monitor. I played more, but nothing could fix it. I had to conclude that's just the VA panel. From the Internet, it seems some people are OK with it and some cannot stand it.
End result: had to return and ordered an IPS replacement. I will miss the blacks, but if you are like me and use your monitor primarily for data (fit a lot of beautifully looking text), then learn from my mistake and do not buy a large VA monitor. Fuzzy text and color shifts from side to side (and the shine resulting from it) will drive you nuts.
If however you are already using VA and these (viewing angles and text clarity) are non-issues, then EW3270U is undoubtedly the best buy on the market. Huge monitor with impressive colors and everything.
Finally I should say that build quality was good; backlight bleed was observable only on one of the four angles which I think is better than average for today's monitors.

But but but .. Benq has a Ace in their sleeves here which no other monitor has. its Brightness Intelligence.. Its nothing but auto brightness. Initially i ignored this as usually I tune the monitor as per my needs. But the BI feature along with HDR works perfectly here. The issue I had with high brightness earlier in dark room while gaming is no longer their when BI is on. It auto adjusts screen brightness based on lighting in the room. You can also see a BI meter on the bottom right whenever it adjusts the brightness.
This is how you should use this monitor, with HDR+BI ON. Colors are accurate with HDR ON, blacks are black. Forza motorsport 7 felt like a new game to me, though i played it earlier on a LG 24 inch 4K monitor (non HDR).
HDR emulation is also perfect for non HDR games, in fact Red dead redemption 2 looks super realistic and amazing with HDR emulation than in game HDR feature. :P
32 inch is perfect for 4K monitor to play in a living room. You can sit comfortably in the couch and game. Earlier i used a 24 inch 4K monitor which required that i need to sit close- upfront with monitor. I also had a 43 inch 4K HDR samsung TV but did not liked it because - more the screen size lesser the ppi. 32 inch has perfect ppi density for 4K gaming.
Other than monitor had great build quality, a great stand. Bit of bezel but it does not matter. VA panel is superb with perfect black levels and hardly i see any back light bleed. Though its not as great OLED screens , you are paying much less. For 35k you will not find anywhere else with such a awesome HDR enabled panel in a combination of 4ms response time.
Go for it if you are in for a great monitor for you xbox one x and ps4 pro.
