BenQ 1ms GTG 144Hz High Performance Gaming 24-Inch LED-Lit Monitor XL2430T
It costs about as much this one did at launch. It's the same screen but has what I'd call better support to it. New aluminum stand buttons aren't touch usb 3.0 and a few other differences. Also it doesn't have the v1 firmware problems since it's new and never had the chance of old firmware. Peace of mind if your willing to spend a bit more. Read reviews on it to see if it's for you.
Settings done with a Spyder4Elite colorimeter

Posted some ICC profiles but links deleted boo, at least I tried.
If you received an early BENQ XL2420Z unit with V1 firmware, there is a behavior in BENQ Blur Reduction where the strobe backlight flashes too early in the LCD scan-out.
UPDATE: This was done to decrease input lag by ~1-2ms with worse image quality. Fortunately, this becomes a user choice in V2 firmware with the Blur Busters Strobe Utility.
Amazon and BenQ have confirmed that all monitors sold by Amazon have been updated and have V2 firmware. Don't be scared to buy one from Amazon. Beware 3rd party sellers on Amazon you never know.
Q: Which Firmware Is My Monitor Using?
A: You may check the firmware version of your monitor by going into your monitor's service menu, by doing the following steps:
1. Turn off your monitor (tap POWER and then wait 5 seconds) if it is already on.
2. Cover the MENU touch button (4th touch button out of 5, excluding POWER button).
3. While covering MENU button with your finger, briefly tap the POWER button.
4. Nothing will happen for 3 seconds. Ignore this pause, keep covering MENU button.
5. Suddenly, all lights will flash simultaneously.
6. Release your finger off the MENU button.
7. Monitor will power up. Wait for the monitor to power on.
8. When the monitor is displaying computer desktop, tap the MENU button.
9. A blue "Service Menu" will appear, displaying the firmware version of your monitor.
V2 Firmwares will say "V002″ on-screen, and show additional settings at the bottom:
Note: If BENQ monitor touch buttons are not working reliably, make sure there is no sunlight shining onto the menu buttons, and no continuously-emitting IR sources nearby (e.g. heaters or Nintendo Wiimote bar). Make sure no objects are nearby in front or adjacent, including other monitors touching the bezel that the menu buttons are on (you may need to temporarily add space between monitors in a multiple-monitor setup).
BENQ released V2 firmware on their website for the XL2411Z, XL2420Z, and XL2720Z monitors. V2 firmware is required for Blur Busters Strobe Utility. If you have V2 firmware you can
A) Either get a new BENQ XL2420Z or XL2720Z with V2 Firmware preinstalled;
B) Or send into BENQ for free upgrade. See BENQ America press release for info;
C) Or manually install the V2 Firmware yourself
Q What is the Blur Busters Strobe Utility
This app allows you to customize BENQ Blur Reduction for brighter or sharper fast motion with less motion blur (CRT clarity) and a better picture than LightBoost!
This app is a BENQ authorized 3rd party utility -- see news on info.benq.us.
Supports BENQ Z-Series Monitors: XL2411Z, XL2420Z, XL2720Z with V2 firmware.

LOW STAR REVIEWS COMPLAINING ABOU RETURN POLICY DIDN'T BUY FROM AMAZON AND HAD TO SHIP OUT OF POCKET TO BENQ. (Laugh)
TL;DR NO SPEAKERS, Resolution 1080P, UP TO 144HZ, NO DISPLAY PORT CABLE, IMAGE SET TO FPS MODE AT START, TN Screen not IPS, First batch of monitors bad but fixed by BenQ. Pinch Buttons front and back for optimal pressing, Blur Reduction works well, Low blue light works, Impressively displays games, Headphone Hook too small for most thick headsets
This monitor does not require you to turn on options for it to display 144hz . Don't be afraid to mess with display settings just remember standard is fine also.
Games look incredible no need to worry about colors looking off games in game.
The protective wrapping for the screen says the screen is set to fps mode at start. As you can imagine, that's not the best option for colors so you can ignore reviews about being immediately unimpressed with colors. Read the large black letters on the screen while unboxing telling you about how you can change the settings from fps1. I set it to standard and it looks fine to me.
About the screen having unfixable double image, it's true the few screens did have double image. That's why you buy from a trust worthy site like amazon. Especially when you preorder so early like those preorder guys did. You know how good amazon is about any kind of problem. If the screen has a problem just mail it back for a new one for free. Amazon will just ship you out a new one same day if possible, not that big of a deal. BenQ MIGHT have a bad return policy on this monitor but it shouldn't affect us. They bought from web sites with no return policies and got screwed. Obviously they would have to pay to ship it to BenQ out of pocket to get it fixed.
This is a TN screen not an IPS, you know these have angle view problems and washed up colors. I don't notice these problems. Then again I don't see it from an angle other than pointing in my general direction. I don't even see a problem with the screen colors thats why you adjust settings.
This monitor has no speakers. I didn't expect it to have none, I thought it would have horrid speakers but I guess it has a dedicated headset hook for a reason.
Games pop out, I've been playing on my Samsung smart tv, plasma, fantastic screen, decent fps, annoying latency, limited to hdmi cable from pc so this monitor is an upgrade even if screen size went down dramatically. I'm using display port and I can actually use the 1920x1080x144 max specs this monitor has to offer. HDMI going to 1920x1080x60. You can see what the current resolution is in system setting all the way down in information.
The controller is kind of nice, now I don't have to move as much to press buttons, the buttons work fine and I didn't know where they were until I hit them by accident when moving the screen, they're on the lower part of the right side of the screen.
You can use the control to scroll through options with the wheel, and select by pressing it down, like a normal mouse wheel with middle click being left click. It also has a dedicated back button with three programmable keys you can set for anything.
You can't go from the top of the options in menu to the bottom so you have to scroll down through settings in the menu and that takes a very long time. It's very annoying but I don't see myself playing around with the settings much once I've finished setting up standard, gaming, and reading modes for myself. Not being able to scroll from the top to the bottom option is going to be bad if your changing screen modes.
I saw some complaints about the screen being to bright, well if you turn on blur reduction it gets much darker. If the light still gets to you use the Low Blue Light option under Picture in the main menu. Or use Eco settings.
Blur Reduction - on, off
Picture Mode - Standard, Move, Photo, sRGB, Eco, FPS1, FPS2, RTS, Gamer 1, Gamer 2, Gamer 3.
Display Mode - Auto set to full in most modes, options are 1:1 to 24 Wide but you usually set that up in control panel video card setting.
Menu - Display, Picture, Picture Advanced, Save Settings, Audio, System
Some interesting things are,
Eco is really easy on the eyes
Display under Menu is something you set up in control panel so it's all blacked out options
You can turn off the menu ding sounds under Menu, Audio, Buzzer.
System Information tells you the current and optimal resolution I set my video card to 144 just to see how the screen works but I'll set it up to auto soon enough, it looks fine either way.
Let me just say, after a couple tweaks spending no more than 30 minutes, this monitor looks amazing!!! Not to forget, the 144 hz in FPS is nothing short of phenomenal. Fragging in CSGO has never felt so smooth.
EDIT: If some of you aren't getting smooth results, remember to set your launch options. e.g. -freq 144
Pros: This monitor is absolutely amazing. It features dual HDMI inputs as well as a DisplayPort, D-Sub, and DVI, which is plenty for most anyone. It also comes with an OSD controller or the "S. Switch," which does an excellent job serving as an attached remote control for switching settings. However, despite how great the S Switch is, the monitor itself has amazing touch sensitive buttons which are incredibly easy to use when navigating the menus. Without a doubt, my favorite features of the monitor are its looks and design. It is sleek, light, sturdy and simply beautiful to look at. It also comes with a sturdy carrying handle and cover which is awesome. The monitor also moves vertically and tilts effortlessly. In addition to that, Blur Reduction, Low Blue Light, and the Black eQualizer offer amazing features for long sessions of gaming. I cannot stress how easy it is on the eyes. The Monitors has great scaling features and, trust me, no noticeable input lag whatsoever. I could really go on and on about the features, but if you are interested in this monitor you probably already know them.
Cons: The first and only real negative I can think of is the firmware version. The picture quality is not the best, but that is not why someone would buy this monitor to begin with, so it isn't really a negative to me. Plus, the picture quality is incredible when taking into account all of the gaming intensive features that are built in. Aside from that, the price of the monitor is still pretty high. Further, I game almost entirely on a console which supports a max of 60hz. There is nothing wrong with this monitor at 60hz. In fact it is amazing, but for someone who primarily games on an Xbox of PlayStation, I recommend saving a little money and buying the RL series. A console gamer really doesn't need all of the intensive settings this monitors offers as they are primarily intended for a PC. Benq will also admit that for console gaming the RL series is best.
Summary: This Monitor is simply awesome, but for those who game on a console, I recommend buying an RL series and saving a few extra bucks.
