ZOWIE FK1 and FK2 mice have been very popular among fans of ambidextrous shapes, but ZOWIE understands that nothing is perfect. This includes the shape of mice. ZA series comes as an answer for the gamers who want to rest their palms on the mouse and those looking for a mouse which is easier to lift with a claw grip. In stark contrast with the FK series, the new ZA series has increased height on the back of the mouse to cater for people who like ambidextrous mice but want to be able to rest their palm comfortably on top of their mouse. The new ZA series comes in three different sizes to give gamers more choice for different hand sizes and also people that prefer bigger or smaller form factors. ZA11 is the biggest, ZA13 is the smallest and ZA12 is in between.

side buttons are sharp and light, no squish like some reviewers mention.
main 2 buttons are super light for what I'm used to. And fairly quiet for gaming mice. Love them.
Wheel action is nearly perfect. Smooth bump.
It feels a bit squishy and sometimes while mindlessly scrolling a file I double-scroll or no-scroll. Which is caused by the wheel stopping ontop the bump, (in between actions). Never a problem in games, only when you are scrolling super slowly with your finger on it while reading. Come to think of it, it's possible all "smooth bump" wheels will act this way if you scroll like this.
Wish the dpi button was on top.
Changing the Polling rate(Hz) is as simple as holding down a side button when you plug the mouse in.
Cord is soft rubber, but it holds bends.
The cord occasionally grabs my mouse pad edges or another cable, I had less issues with my logitech cord.
Software Drivers are,,,THE BEST! None, best because there are NO DRIVERS. screw 3rd party programs. My logitech drivers wouldn't startup and adjust my dpi for 30-60 seconds after windows started. I swear the programmable Per-game-profile crap was auto-loading when I had everything disabled, and if you wanted to change the program while playing, you might have to Reboot to apply changes. screw driver.
Only problem that is solved by drivers is the granularity you can get for your dpi/sensitivity, The only way to get 1:1 ratio with fixed dpi is to keep windows sensitivity at 6, which limits you to the doubling sensitivty of this mouse.
I have always loved the Classic Logitech shaped mice (g5, mx518, g400s).
I tried all 3 sizes of the ZA model. za11 was a no(see below). 13 was a bit too small(I use it at work), 12 fit me the best and is my main.
Zowie places the middle wheel further away than those logitech shapes.
When I tried out the 11 sized zowie, I could barely reach the wheel.
Here are a few pros and cons just to clarify-
Great shape and size
Awesome button feel and click feedback
Not a braided cable
Cable comes in the package bent and its hard to shape it like you want it
Scroll wheel is nice for gaming but not so much for searching the web and scrolling fast
Texture is nice but it does leave some oil marks on the mouse but its not that bad
Overall i have tried over 20+ mice including the Rival, G400s, G900 and many more and this one is by far the best mouse i have tried, i would definitely recommend this mouse especially to FPS gamers.
shape - perfect for my little girly hands (one of the few mice I don't have to hold at an angle in order to comfortably reach all the mouse buttons), love the 'hump' being toward the back
weight - nice and light, I used to like heavier mice with high DPI and use the weight for control but it can be fatiguing when lifting off a lot, like with FPS games so this mouse has allowed me to drop my sens and still feel in control and like I can rotate quickly
no extra blingy LED BS (I'd like to see a cost reduction for this tho)
side buttons: travel distance is a little deep, not a nice solid click
scroll wheel: scrolling is fairly terrible, requires a good bit of pressure to make sure it registers the scroll movement, clicking it is fine
My biggest gripe is the price-tag. For the price, everything feels cheap; the housing, the buttons, the scroll wheel. The only saving grace is the responsiveness (for a lack of a better way to describe it). Definitely only gets away with its price-tag because of the driver-less functionality.
