Update: I have been sending mice back and forth to amazon, 18 days, 4 mice, 1 next day air expense, and several UPS fees later. I still do NOT have a good working mouse. I am officially giving up. GG Zowie I quit.
Newest Update: Okay so I lied about giving up.. I kept trying and after more attempts than I'd like to admit (February 17 - April 6) I finally have a copy that all buttons and clicks feel as they should (I'm an expert at this point). And the coil whine is slight enough that I have to literally put my ear to the top of the shell to hear it. I am now satisfied with my purchase. I wasn't aware this was going to be a loot grind game and I had to defeat the boss over and over until I acquired the best stat roll possible for my class; however, that is exactly what it felt like. All that was missing was the popup "Achievement Unlocked" That said, Zowie.. Not cool. That was one of the most aggravating and soul crushing shopping and gaming experiences of my life. I am happy with my version of the mouse, but seriously, never again.
To start, this is the best shaped mouse for me. I can aim this mouse the most confidently out of any that I have, and I have quite a few. Also easily the lightest large mouse around, which is greatly appreciated by someone who has large hands, requires large mice, but still wants light mice. There are few mice that really fulfill my requirements for dimensions because of my 20x11 cm hands, and this mouse fits like a glove.
However, actually utilizing the great aim confidence with the copy of this mouse that I have is a struggle. The clicks are not precise and are hard to be accurate with. The clicks on this are definitely worse than even the EC2-A that I have and the EC1-A that I've tried, so somehow Zowie has made a regression on the clicks. The side buttons do have a shorter travel than the EC2-A, though the click isn't defined and somehow the side buttons overall feel mushier and less defined. The scroll wheel feels good with good definition, but when you scroll you can feel how hollow the mouse is because you can feel the scroll mechanism deep in the mouse near the back, which you shouldn't be able to when scrolling.
Strangely, the coating used is definitely sub par, worse than the EC2-A and ZA11 I have. It feels cheaper and closer to bare plastic than either other mouse's coating that usually gives some added grip. I have sweaty hands when I play, and this mouse not only turns slippery, but also builds up grime much faster than any other mouse that I can recall using. Does not feel anywhere like the coating on any of the Zowie mice that I've used, almost as if Zowie intentionally cheapened the coating.
The mouse feet on the bottom are an improvement over Zowie's previous design, and even come with 4 replacement sets in the box since they're so small, so this is definitely a plus, and I have since replaced the mouse feet on my FK1 and ZA11 with the mouse feet that came in this box. No replacement for the mouse foot around the sensor, which is odd, but this mouse foot shouldn't wear too quickly so that's no concern.
Sensor is supposedly better but I didn't use it enough to notice.
Buttons are *slightly* better. That being said they are still a lot worse than similar mice.
Polling toggle is nifty and I like that they removed the LED in the scroll button.
cOiL wHiNe which is pretty much unbearable. Worst of all it actually changes in pitch randomly when you move the mouse.
The feet are so much worse! You get way less friction which really helps my aim. They also are pointy? Which means that with thicker mouse pads it feels like it sinks into them (QCK).
Scroll wheel feels a bit worse but I'll let that slide.

The thumb button will not click unless I push it from its corner ( which is very uncomfortable while gaming).
